I'm really starting to question Walls basketball knowledge lol. Been a strange offseason.

Yet strangely enough, despite finding disagreement with much of what Wall has said in the past, I still trust his basketball knowledge more than yours.

Nat, it's OK to not be as all in about Wall as others, and it's OK to make an occasional cautionary comment about Wall in this thread, but this is the "John Wall Appreciation Thread" and it should be reserved primarily for positive comments about his contributions. Whatever his flaws, he's the leader of a team that's made it to the 2nd Round three of the last four years, and he's easily the best and most exciting DC player since at least prime Arenas.

I've bumped a few other threads that are more appropriate for critical/negatives comments on his game. Pick one and use it to your heart's content.

...and he's an All-NBA PG who has put his team on his back time after time after time. Other than that, Wall's a bum. :)

Let me know whenever ANY other player in the NBA let alone a franchise cornerstone leader calls one of his teammates a role player and not a star. Imagine Beal saying that.

Well, the truth hurts about Otto (a very good role player) and who wouldn't want Paul George on their team? But he's not a GM. I'm sure he's not looking at numbers and he's not a perfect human being. I looked at the Jamal Crawford move more about adding experience to the bench and not a metric stud (probably never was). If he wanted to add an aging veteran like Paul Pierce, who was on the downside, I didn't have an issue with that.

Not saying he's wrong about Otto/PG, I'm saying it's the most anti leader quote I've ever seen in my life.

Although there appears to be some positive posts about Wall in the Amazingly Sucky Thread.

NatP4 this really sucks....its like you cant hate anywhere nowadays without the entire board and even the mods coming at you.

I will be honest with you...guys like you make the board fun. You are the Skip Bayless of the Wizards board.

Keep doing you bro... your opinion is often contrary to mines but hey...that's cool. But dont get mad at 99% of the board as seeing you as a unjustified over zealous, irrational John Wall hater at the level of Colin Cowherd.

If people see me as an irrational hater for posting a list of factual statements, so be it. Every other player on the team receives criticism, but whenever it's Wall, the world is ending.

See anything Paul George said this playoffs for more anti-leadership quotes.

To paraphrase PG13...even when I pass the ball to CJ Miles...I should get the ball back because I am a better option in the clutch than CJ Miles even when CJ has a better shot statistically AND i have never made a game winner- except in a Gatorade commercial. Oh and all the other garbage he said about Lance and the team....on his way to getting swept. In football...to paraphrase RG3 when he said was as good as Rogers if the line blocks and that everyone else needs to get better...those were pretty bad. But I will admit I initially wasn't as peeved as you were with JWs comments...but if the Wiz dont sign PG13, miss on everyone else then resign Otto...you have to think there is going to be some tension between those guys and the first time Otto gets in a slump everyone is going to be looking for sound bites from JW pertaining to Otto...and thats not good for the team dynamic. Millions of dollars and winning can solve everything tho...go Wiz

Naw...we just dont go out of way to be overly critcal on the appreciation thread. Make the Sucky JW thread...I'm sure some people will happily come there and ROAST John about a million things. John Wall ain't Michael Jordan...but he ain't Jordan Crawford either. You know the rest of us know that ...right?

I don't think it's the criticism of Wall people have an issue with.

It's the fact that it seems like you're literally WAITING for him to make a mistake so you can criticize him.

And fwiw, it's also noticeable how you absolve/make excuses for the mistakes of other players on this team.

In essence, your "critical eye" seems to be focused on one person...for whatever reason.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Dropping from 15th in DRPM to 58th in the final 26 games of the season then disappearing completely in the Celtics series(hasn't been the greatest playoff performer over his career) which is fine, it happens, but when he's so quick to throw other teammates under the bus and complain about his lack of national attention in regards to personal accolades, it can rub a fan the wrong way. I've seen fans of other teams come here and state the same thing and get banned for trolling.

The biggest thing that holds Wall back is himself, not physical ability.

Actually, it sounds like something Kobe, Wilt, LeBJ, Barkley, or MJ might have said. In the old days, Big E used to say things like that. Sometimes it motivates, sometimes it doesn't. When Magic was a rookie, I recall Jabbar having some public tough love words about him, granted they were more articulate and carefully chosen.

Nat, these people are asking you not to use the "John Wall Appreciation Thread" for your criticisms of the guy.

That doesn't seem unreasonable. &, in fact, it would be more useful to have comments on the guy's limitations or miscues together in a single thread.

For that reason, when you persist in using this thread for them instead, it's kind of natural for folks to think you are doing it on purpose. It doesn't seem useful to me to be viewed that way; I don't know why you would encourage it. It seems likely to set up a negative attitude towards other posts of yours, which can't be enjoyable.

So, here's my advice, offered in a positive vein: take control of the situation, amigo -- why not? Post as many and as pointed critiques of Wall as you want -- but do it in a more appropriate thread.

Over & out.

I mean, we don't have a "john wall" thread, this is where everyone discusses wall related content, we don't have a Bradley Beal appreciation thread or an Otto Porter appreciation thread, we have one thread for those guys where people have critiqued them nonstop over the years. This is just people being sensitive about Wall and nothing more.
