Doubt it, he's not ready. Needs more game experience and makes no sense to pay him an NBA salary to develop. Let him development overseas this year, maybe next year bring hom to the GL.

This guy is playing pro since a couple of years, so he (more than the majority of any draft class) like other foreign players can adjust faster his bball.
Give him so time to readjust either way offensively and def and he'll be for sure a very good nba player ! His body and his hands are very good, the rest is just work to do that you can learn playing in the NBA, it's way harder to learn it in Europe.
The youngest you teach them, the fastest they learn because europeans players have, generally a better and faster bball comprehension than the americans.

8rbd in 13min in this third game, after a first at 6rbd in 10min is not that bad.
Would have hope a 20 min game for Kaba.

Schlenk says Kaba goes back overseas. Cordinier is interested in playing for GLEAGUE team so that's an option.

Kind of a grudge match between Collins and Markkanen, as who is the best PF in the 2017 draft. Collins defiantly won that meeting.

Bembry has shades of Manu in him, in the summer league.

All Hawks fans should be very happy with another good game from Stone.

That's the one. You've mentioned Bembry having a similar effect as THJ. But the Manu comparison seems pretty spot on. I see him as a super sub off the bench and eventual backup PG/SF.

He's a more athletic Evan Turner right now, but with time can definitely evolve into a Ginobili like playmaker off the bench.

This is a matchup I hope we get to enjoy for years to come.

I do wonder what Markkanen's acquisition/struggles mean for Bobby Portis and Mirotic...

I'd love to get a shot at Portis for a late first rounder

Positive press for the young fella. Early, this selection looks like a steal.

If he plays early, he has a good chance at the Rookie/Sophomore game and, perhaps, an All Rookie team selection.

I don’t mean to pile on. I really don’t. But Bulls fans have to be feeling even worse about the Jimmy Butler trade after watching Lauri Markkanen get hoodwinked by Ryan Freaking Kelly.

Here’s Ryan Freaking Kelly, a worse version of Kelly Olynyk, zooming by and leaping over Markkanen like he’s an Olympian. Markkanen can stroke 3s, but the rest of his game has a long, long way to go when Ryan Freaking Kelly is dominating him. Markkanen is further proof that the Bulls are aimlessly floating in the league’s space.

Kudos to Coach Bud for laying it all on the line to a young player in need of improvement.

Hope he is still willing to have these conversations to with the freshman class.

(Dennis may also need a refresher course.)

Thoughts from our guys in the summer league games.

John Collins- Wow. Speed, athleticism, toughness and definitely NBA ready at 19. Looks like he's been here for years. Obviously this is summer league but some of his dunks gave me the bitter beer face. Also on a sidenote, I'm very impressed with his defense and his passing ability, two things that are considered his "weaknesses". Lastly, he's got Klay Thompson expressions on his face. Can't explain it lol.

Tyler Dorsey-He's a shooter and looks like he knows how to play. Possibly he's pressing too hard. Ankle injury stinks for him but at least he will be with us in Bud's university for a couple years. He might surprise once the season starts.

Alpha Kaba- Tough, physical and hungry but needs a couple years to develop those skills. But as raw as he is, he looks like he wants it bad out there.

Prince- He's just using the time this summer to warm up. Probably our best player on the roster moving forward. He's gonna beast on D this year. Hoping for a possible ALL team defense? Possibly in year 3.

Bembry- Has shown me things I didn't know were in the toolbox. An outside shot? Wow. 6 steals (third most in summer league play ever)...wow...the passing and feel for the game are great...not to mention that sick 360 dunk vs the Pels. I couldn't decide if i liked that dunk better or the Collins flush in the same game. Actually they both had some great moments.

GO HAWKS!!!

Ps Diamond Stone is a diamond in the rough. Kid can play ever since he shed 117 pounds.

117 Pounds - you are kidding right? The commentators kept saying how good of a shape he was in.
John Collins - agreed, his passing is the most surprising since I kept seeing his college assist stats being floated out.
Tyler Dorsey - still waiting on him
Alpha Kaba - needs to stay overseas this year
Bembry - color me impressed - he has some offensive moves going the basket, showing some athleticism that surprised me, just keep working on his outside shot.

I'm kidding about 117 pounds but I'm guessing he lost a good 20-30 pounds. It's almost not even the weight but body transformation. Great stuff he might be a steal for us.

We just gon' let Spud2 get away with a weight comment without a snappy retort? Ah man. You changed, jay.

I agree with you both on our young guys. I'm not sure what ya'll see in Stone though. Looks like a Greg Monroe-type which IMHO ain't all that great.

So win today vs Pels and we face the Spurs on Thursday. If we lose today, we play on Friday then exit stage left. Spurs east vs Spurs west..or otherwise known as just the San Antonio Spurs.

We are not Spurs East/South or any other direction!

We are the Hawks! H! A! W! K! S!

No more attaching ourselves to any other squad. :nonono:
