I saw a whole bunch of tweets from Cleveland fans saying that Woj said Cleveland is still pursuing Melo even tho he wants to go to rockets. So unconfirmed bc I haven't heard it myself

wonder what rose is gonna have to settle for. the market is looking bad for him. i thought it would be but not 5 or less bad. rondo might have to take the room exception and people seem more interested in him. where are the people who thought rose was still good ? point guard amare.

i wonder what phil would have gave him ? lol

I just find it hard to believe that KP loves Melo as an on-court teammate. He seemed to know Rose sucks. He must know that Melo is hard to play with, even if he likes him personally, which I'm sure he does.

It's not all (or even mostly) about whether your best offensive player is taking a given shot, or even if he's making that given shot ... this is a lesson that Melo has never learned, unfortunately.

Passing begets passing. Ultimately individual scoring talent is a double-edged sword, or, to mix metaphors, a trap that you can fall into. Passing and best shot available kill defenses, but individual talent only works in very particular spots ... to kill the D. So in the end, you have to get open people the ball or you will lose.

Don't think Melo ever understood this ... except maybe if he were to play with a great player whom he trusts. So I hope he gets that chance.

As a footnote, it's also why a really good PG with Melo is essential -- you need a real creator with his mentality, unless you have that other dominant player whom he would defer to, or you're doomed. We were doomed.

he wasn't stopping anyone from growing but whatever. i don't want to get into this.

Taking every shot down the stretch and taking 19 per game. Let KP, Willy, and Tim get those shots and we can see wtf they are made of.

We should be in good position. If the Cavs are offering osman, 1st round pick and expirings then morey has to come up with a better deal. If he can't then just take the Cleveland deal and we will actually have won a trade. 1 first round pick and a good young prospect without taking back any bad contracts is a win.

Why would they? Everyone thought Melo was going to get bought out even when management said they wouldn't. Now that there's a threat to actually lose out on him to Houston, they would be motivated to make a move considering they did nothing to help make their team better.

honestly his best bet is to go to Spurs for a small 1 year deal. As a scoring guard off the bench for Pops...build up his rep around the league and try next year.

That's a bit of a reach. KP was doomed with or without him since the ball sticks to Melos hands. I would be motivated to move him just to see what we can do with the young guys we have. We already know what we were going to get with Melo in the rotation.

He showed the ability to get the shots off last yr, but he was rusty, so they were off. He'll be fine with some reps as the consistent #1 option
