What trade happens and you know what players are involved before the trade actually happens?

It's all guessing until the deal is done.

Dumb question, but why do your guys even want to trade Melo for these crap packages? He is opting out next summer so he is essentially an expiring contract. Might as well keep him one more season and tank and go into next summer with cap space instead of getting the crap returns that are being proposed Imo...

Im all for maximum chaos. Melo should just ask to get traded to the Nets, then he can stay in NY.

I don't even want a trade anymore. Screw it. This is like a chick that holds out for way too long. Just leave.

Because getting something is better than getting nothing, melo is a very good player, but the ISO gets annoying.

I'm sure every knick fan is eager to see the knicks play a actual offense and I wanna see that sooner rather then later plus it's more shots for the young guys it's a win win in both cases.

My sources tell me that Adam Silver moved the trade deadline to sabotage this trade. More to follow..

I agree I just don't want melo no more. But this is out of hand just keep him if it take this much to find a package for a guy making 25 million in today's in NBA avg 23 a game and 7 boards and was a all star last year. I know the negative but man this is horrible

Sounds to me like they have a deal they just want to find a better one since they have a lot of time to explore all options.

That's not true. Any Knicks fan who was around for the Ewing trade knows this. We took back bad contracts on old players and traded those for even more bad contracts and were capped out for ages with a mediocre team and no real assets. Let's not have history repeat itself.

If we can get decent young players who have value (like Harkless) and maybe a protected pick or two without taking back a terrible contract then you do it no questions asked. But if the price is mediocre players on huge contracts who move the needle just enough to hurt the tank then I agree we should just keep Melo and let him leave next off season. Or mid-season if there is a bigger market for him.

I do agree that there are other benefits to losing Melo which is why I'm not super picky in what we get back for him. Such as a more entertaining offense, more responsibility and touches for the young guns, and probably a better lottery pick. But I still maintain we shouldn't rush into a trade that's bad.

Not true. Sometimes getting nothing is better than get crap lol. Pacers are a good example. They traded PG for Oladipo and his horrendous contract who is good enough to win them a few games and prevent them from completely bottoming out and getting a top 5 pick to start their rebuild. They would have been much better off losing PG for nothing which would have preserved cap space and allowed them to completely bottom out the following season for a top 5 pick. Instead, the are locked into an atrocious contract for a player that will lead them to the 10 seed in the east.

Rockets should just sign Rose. Not that big a difference. Super team alternative route.

I think the Knicks will get cold feet and back out. Soon they don't want to take back garbage

Makes the most sense and lines up with what everyone saying that its a done deal. I think they have the parameters set and just waiting until a self imposed deadline to find a better deal, if not they just go with the best they currently have
