Sources: The Suns and Pelicans are other two teams showing heavy interest in Melo 4 team trade with Knicks and Rockets.
CONT. Melo to HOU. Knicks want Bledsoe but Suns pushing Knight. Anderson to NO. Players going to PHX still unclear

Give us Cousins dammit!
Give them Anderson/Chriss/Warren/Miami 1st. We dump Knight and get Cousins. I'd be good!

Sounds about right. I'd be real surprised but extremely happy if they got Knight. Anderson to the Pelicans would help them with more outside shooting to spread the floor. I think if we can shed Knight we might take Asik. With Bledsoe we'd need something. Not sure what anyone would give up. Probably various pieces from different teams...maybe Ariza who expires after a year and a 1st rounder from someone, and some PG coming back, but I don't know if any of them have any we'd want. I can't see us giving up Bledsoe without something good coming back. For Knight I imagine we'd have to take Asik or Noah, but that doesn't really help us other than shedding a player that doesn't want to be here. Of course I have no idea who that guy tweeting is.

I don't see the point of trading Knight for Asik or Noah. Those aren't guys who could possibly help us due to age and upside. Knight at least has played well in his past and is only 25. I'd rather keep him than either. That is, unless Noah is considering medical retirement.
I think one possibility is Knight going to NYK along with maybe the Toronto pick for next year and NO sending us Solomon Hill. It is about the same moneywise. NO is getting Anderson who is about equal to Hill. It is NYK not getting enough there, but to me it is Houston who needs to make it worth NYK's while since they are getting Melo.

Sure they want Bledsoe, who wouldnt, but they dont have any good enough assets to get him, thats why we are offering up Knight. None of the teams have good enough assets for us to part with Bledsoe for. I mean they do, just none that they would even consider giving up. I think the closest would be Cousins, if NO thinks that its not working out or he might leave in FA after the season, but the idea for us would be to pair the two, not pay for one with the other. Thats why i'd be willing to give up Chriss/Warren/and the Miami 1st (which honestly will be a bleh pick) for a shot at Cousins. KP aint going nowhere. Harden aint going nowhere. No real good youngsters (Besides Capela and MAYBE Frank Jackson). I also like French Frank, but NY aint making him available, the whole idea about them getting a PG is because he aint ready yet, so they want someone to start so Frank can develop more, and thats why i think Knight would be a good fit for that.

Sure, I'd like Hill more too, and it would be great to send them Knight and give them a late second to do it. But I imagine NY wants more for Melo...they'd have to be getting a 1st from New Orleans or Houston but I'm guessing they want a useful player now. Ariza makes sense if they are getting Melo and have Tucker but he's expiring so I don't know if they get bird rights. I just don't think they take Knight as any part of a Melo trade, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

Cousins won't be available after they just traded a lotto pick and Hield for him...it was an under pay, but since it would be NY getting Bledsoe, New Orleans gets screwed...it has to be good for everyone involved otherwise why do it? Unless they dump Noah on us, but New Orleans isn't giving up Cousins to get into this deal..not sure what they would get out of it.

Nothing really. I mean look at the current roster. Guys who are young and have potential to be a part of the core:
Jackson
Booker
Bender
Chriss
Len
Sauce
Warren
Ulis
DJJ
Peters
Reed
That's 11 guys. We have 15 roster spots (although I know Peters may end up a 2 way deal, but feel he will for sure take a spot given his shooting).
Guys we will keep until a good deal comes along:
Bledsoe
Dudley
Guys we may dump as soon as we get a chance:
Chandler
Knight
We have 2 first rounders next year. Just taking our 11 potential core, that makes 13. I know Len may not stay, but that is far from certain. Point being, that just those plus Bledsoe and Dudley would eat up our entire 17. Thus, there is not a lot of value in dumping Bledsoe for a ton of young players. You need a quality young player and a good pick rather than a poo poo platter of players. The Rockets and Knicks and Pelicans don't have good young players--they just have a few guys who are unknowns. I would have interest in Onuaku, Diallo, Hernangomez, Qi, but we can't really afford to keep these guys without cutting one/some of our others, making the trade less valuable.
Point being, if we are moving Bledsoe, we need to be getting a bunch of far out picks (like we got with Miami). Those teams will be good (even NYK with Bled in that conference I think could win), and we don't have the roster space to take on a bunch of current youngsters or picks next year.

I just dont get the sense of NO getting screwed. Sure it was an underpay for Cousins, but they are making out just fine and maybe even a bit better than they would have if they never got him. On top of that they get Anderson back, who played great next to Davis and really helped stretch the floor.

The problem I see is, if you look at my other post, there are not only very few youngsters on the other teams worth having, and we don't have a lot of use for picks next year that will almost assuredly be late. If we could snag NO's pick, maybe that becomes a lottery pick, but I'd expect more than that for Bledsoe, and NO is taking Anderson's deal so why would they throw in a lottery pick to help NYK?
Aside from trading Bledsoe here for multiple future firsts that are lightly protected and far in the future, Knight for Hill or somebody like that makes more sense to me than the other options. Bledsoe for anything less doesn't benefit us in any way.

There is no way they dump Cousins without giving it a real chance to work. He is only getting moved if it gets to the deadline and it still isn't working.

Sounds like we're just looking for a way to dump Knight.
Be surprised if it's anything else major.

Actually, if we include Bledsoe, would NYK include Ntilikina? Can Ntilikina get traded or does it have to wait 6 months. That would be more interesting for the Suns, but NYK wouldn't want to include Melo and Ntilikina unless they got something they liked more from Houston. Maybe Capela?

NY weren't up for Bledsoe for pick 8 on draft day so I suspect not especially now they're adding Anthony into the mix.

Worth noting that they have experienced a change in management since then.

Re: Trade & FA Ideas & Discussion 3: #TheTimeline
Well "Supposedly" Nawlins wants Bledsoe to pair with Holiday in the backcourt. "Local Insiders" have said that the Pelicans have been trying to trade for Bledsoe or Jackson or Lin, with Bledsoe being their main target, but Jackson being talked about for much cheaper (Moore/Ajinca/Pondexter).
I just dont see how a 4 team trade would work with Bledsoe headed to NO. That would most likely have to result in us taking Ryno, and i dont see what the hell we would get out of that to make it worth our while.

Well, that's the thing. It would theoretically be Melo and Ntilikina for Bledsoe and Capela. That's just my guess though. Truthfully, NYK doesn't know what they are doing so anything is possible.
Maybe McD is attempting the bait and switch with Bledsoe and Knight, but that is like baiting with a new mercedez and switching to a run down 92 honda. Maybe NYK talks themselves into it.
I saw some other rumors that Portland was involved and was sending out Harkless somewhere.
