Yes we really do, and this next draft is supposedly going to be forward heavy. It would be STUPID not to collect one final piece given the situation we are in with Noah's contract, 18 year old PG.. We could use this last year to put the last piece into place.

Need a Tatum or Josh Jackson type forward or a stud PG.

1) Dolan does not care about a tank and im sure he wants to avoid a tank season at all costs so the garden attendance stays high
2) There isnt anyone in the knicks front office who's job is safe. so to think a guy like Mills is gonna say "screw it lets just tank" is ridiculous

If the knicks can move Melo but get back a youngish piece that can help them stay competitive and possibly make the playoffs, you better believe it will get done. Fans are the only ones who care about a tank before the season starts, and they dont care what the fans think

Where did the "lets not tank" mentality get us last year? We didn't tank and won games and got us arguing if Frank was even a good pick. If we tanked like we should've we probably could've had Fox or Jackson or maybe Tatum right now.

People constantly laugh at our sorry **** franchise.

If you start off the year wanting to tank that means you don't want to see your current players succeed. How is that being a fan? Its when you notice they suck you start to want to tank. However, how do you not want to root for these young guys?

I hate the idea of tanking on purpose. However, I equally hate the idea of signing veterans to eek out a few more wins to try and compete for an 8th seed. A signing or trade that yields us a guy that is an asset or is someone that we could see being on the team as a solid contributor beyond the next two years is not bad, even if it "hurts the tank". Any moves that are just about the next year or two are bad moves.

Acquire assets and good young players and then win as many games as you are meant to win, and then draft the best guy you can. I like that better than bottoming out, praying for some ping pong luck and maybe it all works out after five years of being awful.

Proven in what way? I already said yesterday that a 4 team deal would destroy the deal set in place wit BKN & HOU. Doesn't mean it still may not go down that way. Proven would mean Melo got traded and I was completely off. Not that I really give 2 **** about my credibility - I just found these forums and was trying to help out and be a part.

I'll keep my updates to myself since I can't guarantee every one will be immediately confirmed & I don't want all this hate from random miserable knicks fans

And he wanted to be here. No matter how bad we were/are he was a New York Knick through and through. We all talk about how stars don't wanna come to New York, well we have a star that wanted to be here and wanted to stay here.

Don't start getting sentimental. Carmelo definitely has my respect as a Knick but any real fan will know he did not do his best to bring a championship to NY. Whether it be buying into coaches systems, using his excellent passing ability to it's actual potential, playing defense, trying to create a true team environment ... He failed us. Just like the FO failed him. Time to send him to a situation we should have BEEN developing here. A high IQ point guard and a true & consistent secondary scoring option. He will thrive, so will we. Win - win. No hard feelings. Bye Melo..

And where did i say he didn't do any of that?? Oh that's right i didn't. All i was talking about was how he wanted to be here and wanted to stay here which is true.

Shouldn't you be on the phone with Dan Patrick??
