Hey man, I'm not disputing anything or how you get your info.

Over the years, we've had lots of interesting characters with even more interesting sources with cryptic or straight up direct news.

Due to New York being under the cap and choosing to invoke the Cap Room rule, New York could not go over the cap by more than $100,000 of post-trade Team Salary, which did happen here.

Due to Houston being over the cap and having a post-trade Team Salary over the Tax Threshold, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston could not receive more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here.

This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.



This might not be a Morey-like deal according to some but then, has Morey delivered a title yet? At some point he has to take a decisive step and if he wants to make his Banana Boat this is IMO a fair trade for him and for those of US sick of the dysfunction Carmelo has added to the NYK.

EXACTLY. Bolt was the most skillful 100 meter runner ever. Did he start his adult life that way? No... he took something he was naturally good at and developed that skill to an all time level through practice, technique, training, and other methods. He developed a skill that he was naturally already good at.

Dribbling is a skill right? Some guys are good at it right away as children and can use both hands, others take two years to get to where some people start out, they just aren't naturally as good at it. It doesn't make it less of a skill.

Wrong... you guys are arguing that something is not a skill if it involves some kind of natural talent or ability. The argument has nothing to do with "knowing what a sprinter does" it has to do with what a skill is in the English language.

He wanted to be a knick you seem to forget they had a trade lined up to send him to jersey only if he commited to resigning there and he wouldn't that trade got nixed.

Wrong. He said he would go there if the Knicks didn't want to trade for him. Dolan stepped in, or applied pressure, and they added Mozgov and completed the trade. I remember seeing him say this on BSPN. He was getting traded so he could sign his max deal before the new CBA. He didn't want to potentially lose the fifth year and the max amount per year. This was all discussed at the time of the trade.

He wasn't bleeding orange and blue. If he always wanted to be a Knick, he would have been here sooner or, made it known years ago. This trade was ALL ABOUT THE MAX and the CBA expiring and a lock out looming. He said he would go to Brooklyn.

I don't hate Melo. It's unfortunate the team was in turmoil and continuous change but, he didn't help the team in any way. Meeting his price each time only hurt the team. He wasn't some NY lifer. He was from Brooklyn and moved when he was a very young kid. That's it. He was not, and has not been a loyal fan of the team. He was a fan of his game and his money. His brand. Not the team.

Sources told The Post there will be no surprise announcement, no surprise visitor in Carmelo Anthony. Maybe that will be next week.

As much as Anthony’s camp is pressing the Knicks to complete a trade this week, nothing is imminent or expected to happen until well after the press conference, according to multiple NBA sources.

The Knicks and Rockets are getting closer, but they have work to do.

“They’re still in the middle of the process,’’ one NBA source familiar with the trade talks told The Post.

Another source told The Post that over the weekend talks “stalled’’ regarding a three-team deal, and the sides had to go back to the drawing board. ESPN reported a fourth team is being solicited to inherit at least one of the contracts. A fourth team has yet to be finalized, but ESPN reported both clubs remain “motivated’’ to make this happen.

Seems like there not close to getting this done. Might happen next week or even might drag later than that

There is a difference between Talent and Skill. Having the ability to run Fast is not Skill. Its Talent.

To clarify my other post saying you're right this is a really basic way of putting it but it's correct. All world class sprinters are born fast and quick. Things are done in practice to clean up form and get the body in the right shape but essentially you must start out with a base of speed talent and quick twitch muscle fibers to become actually fast on a track. Everyone has a threshold they can reach. It's not really a skill you can develop. I was a distance runner. I would never have been a fast sprinter. I maybe could have gotten down to a 25 second 200 if I trained for it but that is by no means fast. It's likely that if you're not fast growing up you'll never be fast. It's a talent that can be utilized as a skill in ball sports but to call speed a skill is misinformed.
