He said something like he have to be prepared better and get back on defense while Chriss was dogging it on defense at the time. Seemed like he was talking about him without naming anyone on air.

Who guarded him? If he did it against Fultz then yeah, that'd be impressive. But doing it against G leaguers doesn't mean all that much, tbh.

Markieff Chriss needs to get his stuff together. He looks like he spent far too much of the offseason eating and is woefully unconditioned along with generally listless play and poor decision making out on the court.

Unfortunately, outside of his lack of conditioning, his listless play and poor decisions on the court is just a follow on from his rookie season. Still haven't seen any improvement on that end.

-The Lonzo ball highlights are impressive. Reminds me of Penny Hardaway before all the injuries. That shot is still wicked ugly. He might not be able to get it off against better defenders. Time will tell.

-Jackson plays with great intensity.

-Ulis, Booker, and TJ have proven themselves to be starter quality. Jackson will get there too I think. Bender and Chriss are big question marks.

-At 20 years old, I didn't know what I was doing in the gym, I was mouthing off to cops, almost quit college for no reason, thought my **** didn't stink, and over valued my accomplishments. I thought success would be easy. By 22-23, I learned the proper way to workout, the proper way to talk to people, earned deans list, graduated, and started my career. My point is...Chriss has time. But I'd love to see better attitude and effort.

-Once the regular season starts, Watson, Jackson, Tyson, and Dudley will probably lay into Chriss from all angles if he doesn't get his **** together.

-Remember when Bledsoe would lie on the floor after being hit? Or pout? Or play at half effort. He really turned the corner on all that last year in large part due to Watson. Chriss still has time.

Was brought up on a pod recently - Roberson's the only guy who shoots worse on open 3s. Quese was at 30% last season.

IMO attitude and intent aren't things you work on over an off-season. You either bring them or you don't. His lack of feel/BBIQ is just magnifying those issues.

I can't see him getting any better for the start of the season. Realistically he should be competing to get on the floor at all, not competing for starter minutes.

I honestly believe the lack of competition for minutes is really hurting him. I can't think of a player worse to force feed minutes to (I'm talking in terms of what he needs to improve on). Confidence and freedom aren't his problems (which are what you create by gifting minutes), he needs to be in a system where he's compelled to re-work the gritty fundamentals, mainly on defense. A preacher coach telling you you're a Mark Jackson-esque butterfly isn't going to get you there.

Josh really didn't get as much love as I thought he would after his game. He was fantastic. Displayed everything today....... he looks so good running the O, the ball does not stick with him. He gets it, shoots it or drives going to the hoop if it is there, if not, he makes the pass. Rebounds, plays, defense, and displayed the right intensity.

Boy, he Booker will be dangerous. Especially with their attitudes.

Bender displayed some Good stuff. I hope he makes Chriss expendable. Getting a little tougher, Dragan should be ok. I love his quick release. Needs more arch though.

Yeah I loved what Jackson did tonight. I'm just guessing a lot of people didn't know there was a game today. It was all TBA. I'm sure this thread will fill up fast after people watch the game or highlights and be ready for the next game.

Anyone else find it funny that Ball's best game was while wearing Nike's rather than his own damn BBB $500 shoe?

Anyone have any info on Peters if we signed him or not?

Would love to see him on the squad as well.

we signed him to a two-way deal. Probably will spend most if not all season in G-League.

Really happy about Josh Jackson. He has been rock solid every game and yesterday he was terrific on the boards. 15 for a wing player is outstanding.

Hopefully they are not tired and we play great against Memphis tonight.

It would be pretty great if JJ can be our new age matrix on the boards compensating for a big that can't rebound well.

The big concern with putting Warren at the 4 has always been the boards (for me, anyways). JJ's skillset really seems to fit very well next to TJ. I think it's a foregone conclusion that our best lineup will feature Booker/JJ/Warren. The biggest questions for me ATM are (1) whether we'll find a way to get Tyler into the SL by trading Bledsoe and (2) who should start for us at center - Tyson? Alan? Dragan? I wish I wasn't so low on Chriss ATM, but it is what it is.

Wish I was able to catch the game, but I got stuck doing stuff after work. Looks like JJ was vacuuming up rebounds though, 15 boards from a wing is pretty impressive. Hopefully this was the start of Dragan's coming out party, because he had a pretty solid game. I've liked some of the flashes from him this SL, but I really want to see him put it all together.

The problem with JJ/Warren combo is outside shooting. We gotta put Bender at center in that case.

That's ideal. Is there enough toughness on that front line?

I expect at least one of JJ or TJ to round into an average 3 point shooter. I don't hate JJ's form nearly as much as everyone else does. Looks like it's tough to gauge distance with it, but it's a repeatable motion. I think Warren will ultimately have a tougher time, but he did hit 40% on limited attempts season before last.

Kinda excited about a lineup of Ulis/Booker/Jackson/TJ/Bender.

Ulis/Jackson/Bender are all great passers. That Ball movement could be pretty epic.

TJ is sneaky and can cut. If he has that corner 3 down this year...man oh man...look out.

The ball tends to stick with Booker a bit more, but he's such a great scorer, it won't matter.

I'm afraid Bledsoe will ruin the ball movement :( I wish we could start Ulis. I don't care the defense. Ulis is not so much worse than Bledsoe anyways.

I think Ulis is the better player, all things considered.
