I'm seeing these type of posts more and more, and I feel lots of people will be dissapointed come next year (and draft time).
We would need to be in top4 to draft Ayton or Bamba. I have at least 4 reasons why we won't be there:
Chicago
Indiana
Atlanta
Brooklyn
And thats being "optimistic" for you guys. I think there will be another 2-3 teams who will be worse than us (or it will be decided by 1-2 games) between pick 5 and 10. Lakers and Sacramento will be on our level, maybe a bit worse if Bledsoe plays the whole year. New York will likely blow it up so they could be as bad as the above 4 teams in the east. If we make any progress from last year - which should be the case, then we are not getting a top 4-5 pick.
We are in the West. They are in the super easy East, so it's not that out of the question. The key is trading Bledsoe. If we do that we drop a lot more games imo.
Also, Brooklyn is projected to be the 7th worst team or so by Vegas IIRC.
Well, if we trade Bled then all bets are off, we may be bottom 3 again. With that said I'd go pretty much all in for a Porzingis trade with him. Ntilinka+Porzingis for Bled, Chriss, and our picks this year (or something like this). We'll see what Ulis got this year, and we can develop Ntilinka a bit as well. Sign a PG next year or draft one with the Miami pick and we're good for the next 5-8 years with that core.
If we do nothing, from now on, then concentrate on winning some games, and make a run at Boogie in next summer. It could be huge if we could sign him outright without losing anybody for a cpl years. Ofcourse a sign and trade could also work as the Pels hands would be tied if he decided to play here, we could have him for cheap, while stearing clear from logjam/playing time pouting/ having to resign all our young guys problems... I could see a Warren/Chriss/Knight for a resigned Boogie deal going down. That's also a good core for the next 5-8 years with the 2 picks coming in next year.
