Out of full transparency that vote came from me. I think I'm the only one that includes Ayton in that Porter/Doncic tier.

It's been far too long since we had two-way athletic bigs who can rebound the ball well. Ayton can be developed into that cheat-code bigman that could do anything on the court. I'm not sold on KP being a full-time Center and not ready to anoint WHG as the undisputed starter.

im with you 100%

dude looks like another version of embiid (without the health issues)

hes DEF on that same tier. i love his game

put willy as the 6th man if ayton lands in our laps. will not pass him up if doncic or porter is gone. this guy is my #3 or maybe #2. need to see more of doncic

Love Ayton, but Embiid was the better defender with better footwork on both ends at the same stage. Ayton also has motor issues. If he's there at 3, you definitely have to at least think long and hard about it...but depending on who's there, it might not be the an auto-pick.

i don't know much about ayton's defense so i'll give you that. but this guy's footwork in the post is pretty good. i never really watched embiid before he got drafted. they do seem like similar players though. both can put in work at the post and shoot

can't comment on his motor issues either. im just basing my opinion on him based on a couple vids. you probably seen more than me lol

imo, i think he's the auto pick at 3. bamba seems good but his offense.. ehhhhhhh

Yah, Ayton's motor has been an issue for the last couple years (seems disinterested at times, doesn't give full effort, etc)...and he still goes out and puts up a near 20/20 game against the UNC team as a HSer. That's scary. My question is, does he really love the game? Is he really going to put in the work? If he does, he's a no-brainer. I think Ayton had more faceup skills when it comes to shooting at the same stage, but Embiid in the post was a thing of beauty - it really was Hakeem-esque. Ayton doesn't have bad footwork at all, in fact, it's still damn good, but Embiid's was still on another level IMO.

Ayton's talent is unquestionable, but the motor might give rise to some questions. If that is resolved, he'll be in the running for #1 easily. As for Bamba - meh...I'm not a fan. I get the whole defense thing, but I don't think he moves super well and still looks a bit gangly (semi-awkward on occasion) when I watch him. He's also skinny. THAT SAID, my biggest miss in recent drafts was Gobert who I thought would bust and they appear to be similar players, so I might be wrong here also.

Looks like 2018 will be forwards and centers heavy.

Is it just me or does Marvin Bagley's arms look short for his height?

But instead we'll probably keep Melo to try to make the playoffs end up with the 8th pick again while the Celtics get Bagley

Iam...They have the Nets pick and the Lakers pick if it falls from 2-5 so they could theoretically have the top two picks next year or at the very least easily have two top 5 picks next year

We're screwed..which is why we need to continue to get high picks because going forward we don't have enough to compete

This is such a dream scenario for Celtics and a nightmare for the rest of the league.

I have a feeling Ainge will cash in on his picks for Anthony Davis by this season's trade deadline.

Won't be surprised if Frank actually has a longer wingspan than Bagley.

Where would you guys rank KP in the 2018 draft? Would you trade him straight up for MPJr or Doncic?

too early for that
this season is HUGE for KP

we also need to see how porter plays in college
hopefully doncic gets more minutes next season in europe as well

KP has to average at least 10 RPG next season. Anything less than a 20/10 performance will be disappointing.

If he and his brother continue to act like b*tches I would seriously consider shipping him to Boston if the Celtics are in position to land Doncic. That team is already loaded with wings and I bet they would entertain the thoughts of having KP.

Return to New York Knicks
