Why make a deal just to make a deal? So we can whine about how crappy it is? Houston needs him a lot more than we need to deal him. He's most likely going to opt out next summer, which is instant cap relief. It's july, training camp isn't until september. We just hired, or will soon be hiring, a new gm. Glad we are waiting, let houston or someone else get more desperate. Never make a deal just to make it. This is smart.

Melo doesn't hurt the tank and KP loves him so it's not the worst thing in the world if he's still here. I know it's time to move from Melo and give the keys to KP but they shouldn't accept just any trade. It's not like Melo is a pain in the ass in the locker room. I think Melo will continue to come to work, play HIS game, cash his check and go home. It's not like Melo is Marbury. It's up to Hornecek and KP himself to establish a new identity.

Exactly. If we are going to suck with him, or without him, why bother trading for a bad contract. Just let him sit and be miserable for another year, get paid like he's always wanted to, and let him opt out afterwards. He wanted NY ($$$) so badly, let him have it. We should be done helping other teams. But, we all know, Knicks gonna Knick.

We don't really know anything....Houston seemingly wasn't going to give up anything more than Ryan Anderson's **** contract. And I never really bought Melo wanted to leave....this dragged on for so long it kinda felt Melo was just getting his name out there for attention.

If your goal is to tank melo easily keep this team in the middle of the lotto or worse. East is real bad now
