I will be so happy if Melo stays.

His adopted sons KP and Willy are about to break out.

His lifelong companions in Baker and LT are still around.

His protege THjr has come back!

He has already taken care of Ntilikina by letting him work out in his gym.

Just as his teammates would, I as well would welcome Melo back with open arms.

It would have worked if we ran the correct offense. Should have been Iso Melo with Amare setting picks and rolling. The combo would have been unstoppable with Melo's midrange game and Amare's roll/finishing ability. We saw Amare and Melo do pick and roll a total of 5 times maybe. Made 0 sense.

I'm happy too. That's a 15 win team. Say hello to top 3 lottery. Thank you, Jesus.

Nah, that's a treadmill team. KP not chasing bigs around the perimeter anymore. Melo able to use quickness and stretch the floor. Rose leaving is addition by subtraction. No triangle around to confuse our players. Lee is solid and will benefit from passes. We still have enough weaknesses that we'll lose a fair amount, but we gotta work hard to tank in this conference.

If KP actually develops then that's not treadmill. That's a dangerous team.

It's up to KP. What's it gonna be?

Where do u see this ?

Personally I don't think the Knicks want Ariza back at this point. He is 32 and doesn't fit into long term plans.

I don't think Ariza would be coming here, must be the 3rd or 4th team involved in the trade that's insisting on Ariza.

I was really ready to move on from this Melo era. But I hope the Knicks held off because the return package just wasn't good.

If the package was just scrub rentals, which I'm sure Morey was offering, the team would have been pretty depleted. And I don't think KP is ready to be front and center just yet, and Ntilikina would be tasked to run a pretty talentless offense.

We need pieces back. I'm actually being optimistic here, but I think this increases the leverage against Houston and Cleveland. They got great superteams. But if they can acquire Melo, they might think that will take them over the hump to actually challenge GS. The Rockets and Cavs are being stingy right now because they can, but that can change around the trade deadline when one of their players goes down or something.

Hopefully Perry is just reworking the deal. He probably looked at the original offers and told Mills to smarten up

Even if he does develop, I still think it's treadmill. AD, for example, has been a beast for years, and also stuck. If we moved KP for AD, I still doubt our team would be good. THJ will need to develop and d up. Willy would have to continue bench play. Frank would have to show some flashes. I think Melo can still play, but I do see him getting older and less athletic, and if the improvements made by the youth are upset by aging vets, then it's treadmill. You're right though...there are different avenues to improvement beyond just the draft

This suggested Melo'd agree to pass the ball rather than shoot.

I'll take an Open Melo jump shot any day of the week. But if he sees an open Amare with a free lane, I doubt he doesn't pass for the Dunk. Nvm.. I take that back.

Solid start for the new guy. Looks like he's not a dumbass like Phil and will maybe try get a little value back for Melo. We got all summer, and longer if need be, to get a decent deal.

Surprise, surprise, Phil's fanboys crying about this  . Don't worry, no body is gonna steal away Ryan Anderson or Myers Leonard.

Tradus Interruptus

Knicks pull out, Morey unsatisfied, looking for a 3rd party to get the action going again.

Melo doesn't have much value at the level he is paid. Phil tried to get offers and found out there was no market, which led to thinking into a buy-out. The buy-out was the right move for the Knicks organization.

Melo hasn't had a market for him at 25m per year, since the Bulls were only willing to offer him the 4 yrs $70m the Knicks are now paying Hardaway.

This new GM isn't going to magically turn Melo into Gordon, Ariza & Capella.
Rockets would be fools to buy at that cost, even CP3 will understand that.

Folks say the NTC makes a trade complicated and it's true, but there's still $55m remaining across two years, and it's a lot of money to pay for someone who pushed their current coach out of NY and is so selective on defense.

They are going to twist this and announce Melo staying is a better deal than Melo getting traded for the garbage they were legitimately offered.

D'Antoni doesn't want Melo. LeBron no longer runs the Cavs. Dolan doesn't want Melo to be bought-out.

Melo is staying, enjoy just another 30-52 season of isolation offense.

Oh, I'm definitely afraid that this exactly what's going to happen.
