I'll be honest, as much as I dislike the FO, Rosenbloom sucks too. He's aggressively negative, even when there isn't any reason to be negative. Not saying he's wrong here, but his shtick is super annoying.

I disagree. Both Markkanen and Blakeney have had better SLs than Bell.
Lauri Markkanen
3 GP, 32.8 MPG, 29.3% FG, 24% 3P, 92.3% FT, .7 TOVPG, 1.7 PFPG, 9 RPG, 1 APG, 1 SPG, 1.7 BPG, 14 PPG, 44.9% TS, 36.6% eFG, 19.5 PER
Antonio Blakeney
4 GP, 26.7 MPG, 43.8% FG, 64.3% 3P, 64% FT, 1 TOVPG, 1.5 PFPG, 5 RPG, .5 APG, .8 SPG, 0 BPG, 16.8 PPG, 56.8% TS, 53.1% eFG, 22.7 PER
Jordan Bell
4 GP, 22.1 MPG, 62.5% FG, 0% 3P, 100% FT, 2.8 TOVPG, 2 PFPG, 9.8 RPG, 2 APG, 1.8 SPG, 2.8 BPG, 5.2 PPG, 63.9% TS, 62.5% eFG, 20.8 PER
He's had a great SL, but people are getting a little too carried away. The guy can't shoot at all, turns the ball over way too much, and for all the raving about has rebounding is barely doing it better/more than Markkanen (or Blakeney's last two games, for that matter). He's not a great passer and while he's been blocking up a storm, the guy simply has no offensive game. He can't score. He fits well with GS, but Markkanen and Blakeney have both looked better, in my opinion.
Despite having 'no offense', Bell is ahead of Markkanen and just behind Blakeney in PER, a stat that rewards usage and ignores defense. Once you factor in defense, you can forget about it.
The eye test is subjective, but ave you watched GS' games? Some of these blocks are positively ridiculous. Bell is a smart athlete who's been killing it at the rim and on the perimeter. And the passing critique is off base -- he definitely has some knack there.
Anyway, Markkanen is probably the better prospect, but to say any of our guys have been better than Bell in summer league doesn't pass the smell test.

What about him? This summer league hype is so irrelevant. A scrub named Bryn Forbes is btw. leading the Las Vegas summer league in scoring, scoring about 10ppg more than DSJR.
Look, I'm not saying DSJR is not going to be an amazing player. Interesting prospect like Lauri, but who knows what they are going to be. Let him play some real regular season games first. He's got the explosive highlights and good stats in Summer League, but very few players in this league can be both ball dominant and successful first options.

But to say he looks better than any Bull is ludicrous statement. That statement shows he's choosing to just find a reason to be upset. On top of that it's summer league for god sake. Andre goudlocke even looked like a star. Hell if we talk about big men and blocks Malcolm Thomas was great for us but we all know where his career went. We can't over analyze and praise a glorified YMCA game.

What if the headline read 'Jordan Bell is playing better at summer league than any of the Bulls' -- would that phrasing have sat better with you?

If the message is to just cry and Moan just for the sake of it then I don't care how you phrase it. How long are we going to keep crying about the same thing? Especially at summer league who cares how a guy is playing when we know it means squat. Now if Bell comes and plays actual NBA minutes and plays better than any other bull then we should be worried.

I don't know what to tell you. Jordan Bell looked good at Oregon, he looked good at the combine, and he looks good now. And the Bulls, a talent-stripped org, sold his rights to the reigning champs. We're not supposed to talk about that?

Just don't bash GarPax on that one. There's other things you can bash on them, but this one bash Rein$$$$dorf. Jerry himself should answer that question instead of John and Gar being force to answer that stupid one. You can tell John didn't want to sell that pick whenever he is asked.

I bash GarPax for the way they messaged the move. "Everyone we liked was off the board... we needed to create a roster spot." Those are credibility-killing quotes.

He looked so good in fact that every team in round 1 passed on him & then 7 teams passed on him in round 2.

Sooo... he's not worth a spot on the Bulls' roster? Is that what you're implying?

Nah. Not talk ****. Just be real: "99 times out of 100, the decisions we make are basketball decisions. But every now and then, we need to make a business decision. In this case, we felt trading a minor asset for a cash injection was a reasonable move -- especially as we enter an extended rebuilding period during which we'll lose playoff revenue. These are the realities of the owning an NBA team."
It'd still be a crap move, and I'd still be angry, but I just might have believed a word that comes out of GarPax's mouths going forward.

I am saying if he looked as good as you say he wouldn't have gone 38th.

I feel you on that. But sometimes people have a hard time finding words especially if you disagree with the decision made. Most fans realize it was a business move. Makes you hate our GM more than they already do.
