Why not just do that now then?

Because Morey is a cheap f*ck?

Because Morey is used to boning Knick's GM's like they are cheap whores?

Because no one really wants to give a home to Ryno the wonder shooter?

If you're asking why the Rockets aren't trading Anderson to dump his deal this summer, then realize how dry the market is right now on teams with space and committing to having Anderson clog your cap room for three seasons should cost a bit more than two late firsts from Houston.

The parallel is just me joking around how people say the 17 million isn't that much for THJr, because under the new CBA, players get more, so it's not that bad. Basically, every overpriced contract gets this argument. You've heard it before with Noah, for instance.

Yup. Truly hilarious he thinks Harden, a 32 year old Cp3 and company can compete with KD, Curry, Draymond, Klay and company. Their window is this year, as Cp3 is a FA. Is he going to want to pay a 33 year old Cp3 200m? Nope, only if they can compete every year, and right now they can't.

The cap experts expected the cap to be a lot higher than it is currently due to all the money coming in. Rockets must've felt that 19 million would be the new 12 million. It just didn't happen.

If you read the 230 pages that are devoted to this here, you'll see that all but a handful of people understand this.

That's why everyone knows a 3rd team is needed right off the bat, to take Ryno, because the Knicks suddenly aren't that stupid to trade Melo for Ryno straight up.

Enter the Blazers, who, for some reason are rumored to like Ryno, but even in the context of liking him want the opportunity (ponzi style) to get rid of THEIR terrible contact, Leonard.

The Knicks, wisely passing on Ryno, also wisely pass the worse by 2x but paid 1/2 less, Leonard. So then the trick is which team would take Leonard.

The part where it becomes more conjecture based is the discussion of whether it's morey being cheap with the 2nd rounder (maybe, maybe not) or that it's hard to find an NBA team that even wants Leonard, then wants him at that price, then has cap space, then also has something they'll be willing to absorb cap space for the large turd that is Leonard, for a pick, while also sending an "ok" player to the Knicks (Who I'll assume want to walk away from dealing Melo with something more than mighty Moe Harkless)

Honestly. I don't know why people feel the need to throw rumors out their butt hole like that.

you're right. it's damn near impossible to make a trade work with ryan being involved. it's more expensive to dump him than it is to acquire melo.
