Of course he is frustrated, anybody would be, but let's not try to pretend he's initiating this attention. Did Melo outright demand a trade this offseason or did someone spend a decent portion of his few press conferences confirming that the Knicks wanted to move on from Melo? We could have just been like any other franchise and kept Melo until we were ready to trade him while shutting TF up. But no, we decide it was a better idea to publicly put our best player on the trade market...fcking Phil. How's that goink?
He didn't ask to be traded, but he did ask for a buyout.

to recap..
- Melo thought it was done
- 4 team deal parameters are in place
- only "minor" details to be finalized
- 2 close to the situation still thinks it gets doneAccording to a source, Anthony went to the Knicks prior to the NBA Draft and requested a buyout. He was denied, but Jackson said the Knicks would work with Anthony on a trade.
Anthony then agreed to waive his no-trade clause to Houston and Cleveland.

Frank Isola was on ESPN and said that the Knicks holding onto Melo for now was a good idea.
He then goes on to write a negative tweet giving fans the impression that the Knicks don't know what they're doing. It's not a conspiracy theory when it's deliberately done. No one is clicking an article if it's all positive.

Honestly, until I hear it from Melo himself... I refuse to believe these bs reporters. And the famous "my sources informed me..." Melo, by all accounts is a professional. During the Phil drama, not once did Melo make this about him vs Phil. He played ball, he did his job and kept his composure. And now, Knicks fans talk about booing him???? WHY??????? Because he didn't want to be traded to someplace like Orlando (as an example). Some of you need to put yourselves in his shoes.

Better increase the teams list to include Boston, Washington, Clippers, Spurs, etc....
You really want to be traded give us some viable options.

Even the most reliable guys like Woj start their info by saying "Sources". Discrediting everyone who says sources doesn't make sense because there's no one out here that's naming their sources.

Phil Jackson already did that.
I cant blame rest of the organization for this.
I dont care how much Melo's worth at this point.
We dont need to trade him for Ryan Anderson contract.
Yea maybe contender teams arent willing to give valueable assets. Thats not our problem. I dont care about Houston/Cavs or Melo's interest.
If Melo wants to go he can next offseason. I dont see a point to take any bad contracts back.

He lost the last 4 years. Now he was told they trading him to Houston he looking for homes and we change our mind. It's not right I understand we need the best deal sonhold out for that but trade him once we find a ok deal.

LOL, he has a no trade clause, he has all the power. He knows he can stay with the Knicks and do whatever he wants, he doesn't have to act like an ****, his play on the court and the fact he has held us hostage for years confirms it. Put myself in his shoes? Sure, ill take the 60 million he has coming to him to play the game of basketball, you could trade me to Cyberia and have me play on a PAL team there, who gives a ****. God i am so sick of people defending Melo, he wont be on the squad next year, we are just regrouping with a new GM and going to get more assets in a few days. If by some chance he is on the team, i will boo the **** out of him, because he is a selfish player who never tried to change his game and has kept us a perennial loser while he scores his points, runs his other businesses, and enjoys living in NYC. Dudes a joke.

That really wasn't my point and I agree with you. But there are many other reporters who just make $hi up for the sake of money. And then you have some fans who believe the foolishness and in turn want to hate on an athlete for a false article. Not saying it's anything that can be done about it but in this particular case - the hate on Melo (imo) is unwarranted. He still wears the blue/orange and until he doesn't I, for one, will cheer for him as long he's doing what he has done since he came here and that's trying to win!

Re: The MeloPause Trade Thread
Melo is trying to put the pressure on the knicks to take a horrible deal. That is all that isola piece is. Melo has no doubt been working the New York media for months creating all this turmoil. Let him rot before we take a bad deal. Was a great move pausing the talks and sending the message if Houston really wants melo they need to include more(Ariza and Gordon) to get us cap space and young assets. Worst possible scenario is melo is back to the knicks and we boo him all year to get him to opt out next offseason! Let him come off the bench and give the young guys the looks on offense and build chemistry together
