ST: Birds (41-47) vs Kittehs (39-48) in Detroit, July 14-16

The Jays look to improve on their blistering 4-3 record heading into the all-star break by facing one of the few teams in the league with a worse record.

The second half starts with the Jays last in division and 8.5 games behind Boston for the division lead. They're only five back of Tampa Bay and the Yankees who are tied for the wild card spots, but they'll need to overtake seven teams to snag one of those spots.

They'll need health and better performances from the likes of Donaldson, Tulo, and Bautista to make it happen. And they better come out of the gate hot, or Shatkins may start selling before the trade deadline.

Game 1: Friday, 7:10
Game 2: Saturday, 6:10
Game 3: Sunday, 1:10

Sparrows vs Kittens might be more appropriate.

If there's any team in the league that's more infuriating than the Blue Jays, it's the Tigers. I have Fulmer in fantasy and I can say they are straight up one of the most annoying teams in the league in terms of their erratic production.

Fulmer likely pitches a complete game of one-run ball in a 1-0 loss on Saturday, where the Jays score on a sac fly by Smoak or some ****. Pencil it in.

I dont know why I feel optimistic, maybe because I feel like this team hasnt played as well I think they can play. In order to get back into the conversation they need to go on a big winning streak and we need to do it now against detroit.

I still can't believe Tulo went from being an all-star level SS to a pumpkin so fast. I figured there would be a gradual decline as he aged and left Coors, but his bat basically fell off a cliff. Looking back, Tulo's decline had started before the Rockies traded him to us, so they definitely knew something was up imo.

Same here. You would think it would be a gradual decline, but he has fallen off so quickly. It's disappointing to say the least..

Also, Tulo wasn't so enthusiastic when the trade happened. Maybe he didn't want to come here and was happy in Colorado with his family and friends.

Can we trade him back to Colorado please?!

Bolsinger in to the third inning with the bases loaded, none out, and the Jays already down two. Not liking our chances here.

Bolsinger really shouldn't be in the majors. He's fine for pitching mop up but shouldn't be getting into leverage type situations

Staring pitcher craps, then leaves with an injury, Jays one hit through six. Sort of the season in a nutshell.

Not good that we don't have anyone better than the likes of Bolsinger and Harrell.

I'm watching the Tigers feed and they just spent a good portion of that 8th inning interviewing a man wearing a rainbow dress and a unicorn hat, who is trying to lure the unicorn with his attire. It's especially weird because I thought Schad was banned from Comerica Park.

Incorrect; I was banned from the old Tiger Stadium (which showed quite a bit of foresight on their part, given that I had never been there). Comerica is still on the to-do list.

Oh, by the way, just so we're all clear this is a real thing and I wasn't just making random things up or hallucinating from the terrible baseball the Jays play:

Never thought I'd say this, but I want Dickey back to replace Liriano.
