Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
There aren't enough roster spots remaining to sign a couple of more cheap 1 yr vets.
If we can trade Nicholson for a decent but somewhat expensive expiring stretch big, I'd do that and call it a day.

I'm somewhat satisfied with what we have now. If the only thing Marks does is to sign a few vet to 1 year deal I'm okay with. Of course if Marks can do some more magic and achieve more that would be even better. But to me the 3 goals must be equally weighted:
1. Win as much as we can
2. Develop the future core (DRuss, Levert)
3. Without hindering next year's cap
Having the 3 main goals in mind, what possible targets for us at this point?
Nets needs more front court help. David Lee and Andrew Bogut are on market and could be gotten for vet minimum salary most likely. Bogut might be nice insurance in case the Afro kid needs some time to develop or TMoz gets injured. Bogut is supposedly healthy again, and I could see him being a good mentor for Jarrett Allen.
He's probably outside Net's price range, and Denver will probably want to keep him, but I also like Mason Plumlee.

We still don't know if Acy's staying, as far as I know..
July 16 - Quincy Acy’s $1,709,538 guarantees for 2017-18 unless the Nets refuse to exercise his team option.

DLee to Nets? Doesn't he like winning over in San Antonio, though?
Since he was basically pigeonholed as a bench PF during his championship season with GSW (and I guess teams moved on from PFs who don't shoot 3s), might as well stay with a perennial winner as long as they'll have you, right?

Does the fact that we haven't heard anything about the Nets picking up the team option on Acy for ''17-18 mean that they have declined. Deadlines today and It's been quiet

Yeah, it should be any moment now. But for Acy, who has contributed tremendously last year playing the 3 to 5 with such a low contract, the direction of keeping him should have been clear by now. What dealings could be holding this up, if any?

Seems like we're done for the offseason unless someone calls us with another sort of salary dump. I'd want to throw Nicholson back at them though. And at this point, I'd rather have a pick in the 2019 or 2020 draft attached to it. Getting a pick in a draft where we have our own pick again will be tremendous. Once we let these dumps walk and replace them all with fresh young talent, that'll be a beautiful sight.

Based on his Twitter account, it looks like he just go married today. Would kinda suck to get laid off on the day of marriage.
Although, we don't have many bigs. Unless the Nets have some deal planned, it would be hard for me to see why we would drop him.

Why the hell would Nets want Mason Plumlee back? Can't shoot, can't play defense, only can play one position, and he's 27. Might as well throw money at JaMychal if they want a big. Can shoot, is more mobile, can play 4 or small ball 5, and he's the same age.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
does anyone else feel like Marks is not done?
I would not be surprised if Nets dropped Acy and traded one of our guards, and signed two vets for front court
In addition to Plumlee, David Lee on vet min deal comes to mind because he did not sign his player option with Spurs this year, and he is close with Lin - could see him liking BKN
