I guess we couldn't afford him. Would of been nice to have him back but we can replace him.

Simmons would look good on the Jazz. I thought the Spurs were high on him? Or is he just a one-dimensional hustler? Is LMA coming over to the Jazz ;)?

Apparently a S&T deal for Tyson Chandler feel through at the last minute. We didn't like the idea of taking back 2 years of Tyson's salary.

Sad to see him go but lets face facts. He would have been too expensive for what he does. I, like everyone else loved the slashing and dunking and he did make us more athletic, but he was a turnover machine and couldn't guard anyone without fouling them.

I would have preferred a sign and trade but since we couldn't get anything in return to help make us better it has to be this way.

He is one of those "Good player but in small doses type guy" If he can find somewhere where he can get 15-20 minutes a night regularly he will be fine but dont expect anything more out of him or his flaws will be obvious.

lol losing simmons for below MLE in todays increase salary league?
wont give him minutes cause his not over himself, yet his hunger desire to compete cant be question playing behind the pecking order on the bench, unlike the softies on the roster who are passive or dunno what to do with the ball who continue to get minutes cause they fall in line with pops autocratic style? this is the clown who cant get over himself...

if he can help reset the culture there after 5 years of losing bad, its definitely worth it.

Not many expecting him to be a star (a few do, all fan bases have those). But from the outside, it looks like he plays defense, has fight in him. Can anyone give Orlando any other thoughts about his game? at 27, im not expecting a bunch of new things. if we can get close to his playoff stats I would be happy with that.

Glad that he got his money. Something tell me he wasn't Pop's favourite or he wasn't a big fan of Spurs bb.

I doubt he'll be an all star. If he is playing the SF position then he's going to be competing with Gordon hayward, LeBron James, carmelo(if not traded), giannis and Ben Simmons at the minimum.

If anything maybe he'll be a reserve in case someone gets injured

Because he makes ESPN highlights for some flashy dunks doesn't make him a star. People are expecting too much of him IMO.
Really, I like the guy and I'm sad to see him go but he turns the ball over too much. Weak defensively because he doesn't know how to defend without fouling, and he is not a good shooter...

As long as he is a solid player I m happy with that. I don't think people r expecting him to be a star

Dude are you high? How on earth is Simmons a big time player???

Because he dunked the ball a couple of times?

I don't like Danny Green much either but at least he can defend someone.

I don't understand half of what you typed. But our bench will be fine without Simmons, just like it was for the majority of the season.

For the money that Simmons and Dedmon got I would of been completely fine with bringing both of them back. Seems like both of them just wanted to move on.
