Salary matching is surprisingly difficult as it appears Okafor for Bolomboy and Neto comes up about 23k short.

The Wolves need wing depth badly, but likely need to look for options with the vet minimum (bringing back Rush for example)

Otherwise, they could be offering Aldrich for a wing on a longer deal (Courtney Lee, Dudley etc.) and possibly throwing in future 2nds or OKC pick

I think Thibs may be looking to bring in a vet PG as well, because I'm not sure he trusts Tyus. However, our big rotation should be set with KAT/Gibson/Dieng/Bjelica

Currently I think our rotation will look like

Teague (30) Tyus (18)
Wiggins (24) Crawford (24)
Butler (36) Wiggins (12)
Gibson (22) Bjelica (16) Dieng (10)
KAT (36) Dieng (12)

Thibs also talked about rolling out a Teague/Crawford/Wiggins/Butler/Towns lineup occasionally today, which would be a difficult lineup to matchup against (unless you're the Warriors).

I doubt Colangelo would do it but I'd be in for Bayless and Anderson for Aldrich and that OKC pick. Opens up some roster spots for Philly, adds a pick and cuts some more salary for next year. Minny gets some wing depth in Anderson, more shooting in Bayless, and Bayless can also be Thibs' safety net at PG if he's concerned about Jones. Both are also under team control for two more years.

We most likely aren't going to do anything but we need(ish) another forward. Either position is fine. We'd probably only give up a 3rd string center or PG to make it happen..

Or once teams are able to sign players that were on other teams last year, we could look to fill that via free agency. Or we won't fill it and just bank on McBob/Wes and Bruss. (And we could use a starting center.)

Dallas doesn't need a spot itt as we have no destination.

Okay, this was the only one I wasn't sure how to make it a one line blurb.
Needs: Available:

I figure it should list if Wes/Barea/Harris etc are available and a segment on directional assets desired.

Sorry for too much in my post.

We need another forward body, but we are going to stick with what we have so it doesn't count as a need. It's fun making suggestions but I don't see Dallas doing anything at all. That's our offseason plan, don't mess up the decent work we did last year. So just make the list 29 teams?

Chuck or others could give a different opinion

I googled alphabetical list of team names, and apparently my link was quite old.

OKC needs a defensive-minded 4 to backup 2Pat and to play small ball 5 because outside of Adams, we don't have anyone.

Agree with forward being the biggest need. Agree we aren't going to add a veteran. My guess is once 10 days are a thing, we cut loose McBob or Brussino maybe and start running through 10 day guys hoping to find another guy like Yogi--only bigger.

So sign Noel. The end. Don't see us making any deals this off-season in terms of veteran signings or trades. I expect at the deadline we will look for an opportunistic deal like Noel last year, but otherwise we are running it back and adding Junior. I think most players not named Dirk or Smith would be available but I don't think Dallas is shopping anyone or listening that hard to offers.

Suns are in a similar position to the Nets as Joe explained it.
We don't need anything really because we don't plan on contending now and we don't necessarily have anyone we want to move.

I believe Bledsoe, Chandler and Dudley are available for the right price.
Knight is on the block and we'll likely take anything (except a worse contract) back for him, but preferably nothing if possible.
We're definitely not looking to pay to dump any of our vets or Knight - our goal is the opposite.

In my opinion, we NEED to take on deadweight salary with assets attached. This is why I feel we're very good trade partners with NOP.
We can eat Hill + 1st for Dudley or something along those lines.

Call it bolom+Neto for Pondexter, Harris, etc with a immediate Harris for Jah trade. If Morey can do what he did, and Hinkie could have existed in his beauty.. Doubt the league cares about such a side step

Obviously plenty of players could be used and value needs to be added.. But does Utah really add value to get a backup to Rudy after drafting a backup to Rudy..while having Favors?

Cavs should probably hire a general manager. It's not like the best player of the generation is on your roster with one year left on his contract and your biggest competitors, Golden State and the Knicks, have improved their rosters this summer while all you did was add Jeff Green and Jose Calderon, and you don't have a full time GM or anything like that.

HAWKS

ASSETS FOR SALE

- Assuming I've understood correctly, the payroll now has about $8-9m in cap space, after claiming Brussino from DAL off waivers... and yes, we will rent out our cap space for the right asset(s) in return, as the LAC/DEN deal demonstrated

- Regarding future draft picks, fair to say the Hawks are a buyer, not a seller--don't propose ATL giving up picks unless there is some very attractive young upside to doing so

- There is no untouchable on the roster, though easily the most available, in order of salary, are:
1. SG Kent Bazemore ($16.9m, 3 yrs)
2. C Miles Plumlee ($12.5m, 3 yrs... can't be packaged officially until two month wait expires in Aug, but can be traded by himself)
3. SG Marco Belinelli ($6m, 1 yr... same as Plumlee)
4. PG Malcolm Delaney ($2.5m, 1 yr)

SEEKING TO BUY

- GM "Colonel" Schlenk is reportedly (aside: ATL fans are routinely skeptical as to whether the local beat writer has his facts straight, or just as bad, if Hawks HQ deliberately misleads him, or both) on the record that the final roster slot will be filled by a 3rd PG

- Will consider smaller bad contracts in exchange for one larger one--as demonstrated by flipping Howard ($23m) for Plumlee ($12.5m) + Belinelli ($6m)

- Otherwise, in the market for almost any young assets with a 2-3 year horizon, practically no matter the position

Nets 7/26

Needs: Young players, picks, future assets
Available: Apparently everyone is available except Russell and LeVert. Most likely veterans to go are Jeremy Lin and Trevor Booker. We have no reason to tank. Our roster is pretty imbalanced right now - we're heavy on guards and light on big men. So hit us up for those rotational big men.

Wow. This is really tough for the Pistons. Not terrible at any position, but not great at any. Not in a rebuild, but also not in a position to win now. Sort of a state of limbo, waiting to see if Jackson can come back from his injury and if Dre will ever pick it up a notch or three.

I think anyone's available, though SVG probably wants a bit more for Drummond than we're led to believe. No one on the roster with a ton of value.

It is possible he could be lured into a trading younger ssets for a top tier player, I suppose.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I would have the Pistons biggest need as the team stands at starting stretch 4. That could be answered internally by Leuer (though I think he's better suited as the backup) or by Stanley winning the SF job and shifting Tobias to the 4.

I do agree with you that everyone is on the block. I would be surprised to see Kennard / Johnson/ Harris / Bradley traded for varying reasons, but there is no "untouchable" on the roster. Personally, if the team isn't getting younger, the move I would like to see is shopping Ish & Boban together to take back a starting 4 who can shoot on a contract a team would like to move, unless Jackson and/or Drummond get moved the team won't have significant cap space until 2020, so giving up Ish & Boban (2 years left each) for 1 solid starter with 3 years left doesn't bother me.
