Hell, forget Arenas. Id be thrilled with a version of Ben Gordon (Chicago) with more athleticism and better intangibles.

Agreed and i'd be more thrilled if he's going to play defense a lil' better than Ben (he would be an all-star in this weak east, lol).

Here's video where Calipari says the only other player he's been around with athleticism comparable to Monk is Derrick Rose.

Cole Zwicker thinks Monk is the best shooting prospect to come out of the draft since Lillard.

It's an in depth analysis, I dare anyone to read it and then come back in here and tell me you're not excited.

that was a good article. Getting open off the ball is a skill that can be forgotten about sometimes. Most people just see the guy being open and taking a shot and assume that whoever made the pass really made the play.

Monk is a playmaker, and he doesnt even need to handle the ball. But I think he will improve on that as well. Still salty that the Sixers didnt draft him, although signing JJ Redick is ok.

yeah, but he was awesome in college. he had bad timing, when NBA was phasing out combo guards, every team wanted SG to be MJ size. He'd do much better now.

He seems to be a rare combination of pure shooting, quickness, and absolute killer offensive instincts.

The STAR in the making. I love a player who believes they can be the best, and is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to get there. I have no idea if Monk has "IT", but he believes he does, and has shown star moments and capabilities. His story just begins this year. I hope he shocks the NBA as the surprise achiever of a great draft class.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Monk is potentially the shot in the arm that we need for instant offense. On draft day I was praying he would fall to us. When he did I went nuts. I knew we found the guy that wasn't only the best talent available but everything we needed in a player. Seeing him in a hornets jersey is awesome and I can't wait to follow his career.
