That's different. He's from there and Cavs fans loved and adored him prior to that decision. Laker fans generally have never even liked Lebron let alone love him

Lol. The vast vast majority of Lakers fans are causal fans. They'll rally behind Lebron as if he was their own child

Exactly. The majority of Lakers "fans" who dislike Lebron are Kobe fans who can't stand that Lebron is better.

Lebron can barely even handle being in the Cleveland market, can you imagine him in LA? Especially if they never win a title. He'll be more hated than Dwight

Perhaps to make sure other pieces will be in the works...Many other pieces...lol

Just in case the Lakers front office is colossally stupid and didn't already know they'd need to?

Knowing something ahead of time and being able to do it are two different things, as we've seen with Cleveland trying to make moves that'll give them a leg up on the Warriors next June. The Lakers may have an even harder time, as they're essentially starting from scratch.

Yup. I think the "only" way we avoid the circus/pushback the rumor mongering is if we trade for Melo cuz I just don't see LBJ leaving the supermax on the table and having Melo's bird rights could be the ace in the hole as Melo would have the ability to opt-in to '19 or opt-out and Cavs give him whatever last longterm contract that lined up with LBJ's next deal. How does he leave that even if we're the crappiest team in the league or Melo breaks down?

But man, this is gonna be worse then when we had everyone telling us in '15 that KLove was going to the LAL. Sigh. And in the end, it's all LBJ's fault for not addressing it/at least refuting the baseless claims (or for all we know, the LBJ camp is fanning them, which again, his fault)

That would be really dumb. LBJ left Wade & Bosh. He wouldn't think twice about leaving washed up Melo.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I can't see Lebron's ego allowing him to play underneath the Shadow of Laker greats. Dwight Howard couldn't handle and bolted. It takes a special type of talent to thrive in LA.

He wouldn't have to seeing as he is better than anyone who ever wore a Laker jersey...

I mean LeBron is already a bigger star than anyone who has ever played for the Lakers so I don't that playing in LA will be a big adjustment for the King

Anyways the Kyrie news explains why LeBron reached out to the Lakers. Personally I am very excited to see how this plays out

Watch the link, there's more going on.

I watched the link, and the tag line says "Rob Pelinka recruiting LeBron's camp to Lakers?"

So basically, the opposite of LeBron's camp reaching out to Lakers, as you decided to title this thread.

Every team in the league would be interested in signing LeBron next year. Not quite the same as LeBron wants to sign with every team, is it?
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I can already see Pelinka and Magic building a 50' x 200 ft cardboard check with Lebron's name on it outside Staples for all to see

A choking, flopping, cheating, arrogant douchebag like him doesn't deserve to be a Laker

You're okay with a cheating, arrogant douchebag like Kobe but those other traits break the camel's back?

This thread basically has turned into the people of Los Angeles VS the people of Cleveland lol.

For one thing , some fans of both sides really needs to stop assuming that what one fan thinks is the same thinking of the entire fan base.

For one, I'm a die hard Laker fan and a die hard Kobe fan. Believe it or not it's sort of two different things to a be a fan of and fwiw I'd love For my Lakers to get Lebron. He's the best player on the planet and he will continue being the best player for at least another 3-5 years.

It's not rocket science , you want the best for your team so if you get a chance to get the best player you go for it. An I'm Pretty sure Magic and Rob thinks the same.

For some odd reason this thread has turned into is Lebron better than past Laker greats? Or will he live up to the LA hype? My answer is who gives a damn lol
The season where he is still under contract for the Cleveland Cavs hasn't even started yet.

I see a lot of comments from Laker and Cavs fans trying to start a debate irrelevant to this topic. Bottom line is whatever team Lebron goes to he will instantly make them much better and possibly a contender.

Damn with the rumors of Irving being traded, coinciding with this rumor. Still, I don't know what Cleveland would accept to trade Lebron. Ingram and picks? The Lakers would have to make lots of room to clear cap space.

OMG, Rob Pelinka is talking to Rich Paul...cuz they just signed KCP but people interpret that as, "Oh, LBJ to Lakers interest"...smh.

God, this is going to be annoying for the next year. Thanks LeBron. Can't even have 1 non-drama like year, win or lose.

Still think it's not true with news of Kyrie wanting out?

Ball, KCP, george, lebron, noel (who should only sign the qualifying offer). that team can beat GSW. Obviously Ball needs to grow up fast.

if that happens, magic would be wise to not give lebron anything more than 1-2 year deals. move on quickly from the lebron era in 2-3 years and transition into the Ball-George era.
like i said, its a full rebuild.
