Apparently he wants to be the focal point, so the Pacers is the best fit for him.
My all-time starting five: Hakeem Olajuwan, Michael Jordan, and three 3nD role players.

The only real advantage to trading Kyrie somewhere he wants to go is possibly gaining back some credibility as an organization in the eyes of the players. I do feel like this offseason has demonstrated to players that Cleveland is one of the worst organizations in the league to tether your future to the second LeBron is not there.

Favors would be an awesome 5 in cleveland. How about Favors/Hood/Rubio/pick for Irving/Thompson?

Best (and most plausible) theory I have is that LeGM tried to float Kyrie trades after Love didn't get great offers, Kyrie got upset, then started making demands. Considering Kyrie almost never leaks things to the media, and LeBron always does (especially via Windhorst), this story sounds like LeBron is setting the stage for him to leave with some level of damage control (See, Kyrie demanded a trade first!). Leak the story now so that should he leave, some of the emotional blow is gone.

Yeah, I still wouldn't expect a Irving trade, but we'll see.

It sounds like the Cavs are at least willing to accommodate the request, though.

I too blame Gilbert for floating Kyrie's name in trade talks in the first place. But I also blame LeBron for his pussy passive aggressive tactics that forces Cavs ownership to be so desperate.

Too much for the Jazz. They won't do Favors/Rubio/Hood for Irving. Cavs would have to throw in a sweetener.

Can you please explain why that's too much from the Jazz?

Three starters that are going to account for about 40pts ppg for Utah? WAY too much. If Utah does that trade, they are gutting the team to get worse AND they shorten their window to win.

True but those 3 guys are far from irreplaceable, not to mention Kyrie can average 20+ in his sleep by himself. There's no chance he gets traded to Utah anyways, but Utah would have no business asking for more in that trade.

Sometimes having an owners with a dickish streak comes in handy. I strongly suspect this might be one of those times. Kyrie isn't going anywhere this season unless there's an issue in N.O. or OKC.

The incompetence of letting the griffin thing go on to the trade deadline and then letting him go while he was in the middle of many trade talks is off the charts. Completely moronic to not have it sorted one way or the other by then.

We could have had a great team. We had good deals for Kyrie and now we won't get anything worthwhile everyone's been traded already.

The Pacers jobbed us. They pulled out at the last the minute. They then took less from OKC. It had nothing to do with Griffin & everything to do with not wanting to see PG in a Cavs jersey next to LBJ.

You don't know that though. Grif may have been able to get it over the line if it was that close. And that trade was a love one that came after the Kyrie ones.

I've wanted to trade Kyrie forever. What's out there now though

Why do that if he and pg can walk next off-season AND get better value in trades to make room for them of need be?

Good point, Windhorst is LeBrons mouth piece. Cavs fans should protest for Cavs to trade LeBron for whatever they can get. Because now they'll lose both their best players

Rubio is never going to the Cavs, first off. No way, no how. He's a terrible fit with Lebron. Favours is never on the court and Hood is an ehh, above average, 3 and kinda D player. Guys who cant shoot and guy who cant stay on the floor is a non starter

Thats the Cavs direct compeition. Unless it's a ridiculous overpay, there's no way Cleveland trades him to the (likely) 2nd best team in the East
