Neymar Agrees To $35M Per Year Deal With Paris Saint-Germain

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jul 22, 2017 3:01 pm

Neymar has agreed to terms on a contract with Paris Saint-Germain, according to a source close to the club.

PSG can now push forward with their plans to trigger Neymar's €222 million ($259 million) buyout clause with Barcelona.

Neymar will earn €30 million ($35 million) after taxes in salary from PSG in addition to a significant signing bonus in excess of his net annual sum.

PSG's main question is how they'll finance the spend.

the reason pro soccer is lame, is a guy like this (a top 5 player or so in the world) is now going to be playing in what? the 5th best league in the world? on a team that is worth probably as much as the entire league combined (minus maybe monaco).. there's 2 quality teams in the french league.. then the drop off is absurd.. spain at least has 3 giants, and a few other quality teams

the reason americans couldn't give a sh*t about pro soccer is the best players are spread over 6 friggin leagues.. then those leagues all contain 2-7 legit teams (no salary cap), and the other ~13-20 are tiny market

the champion's league is just a tease.. if all those top teams and players played in one league, it'd be incredible

Tossing in Verratti should bring that transfer fee down.

PSG has been angling for this move for a minute, collecting Brazilians as they are.

so you're saying champions league is not a league?
let me tell you, it is. it's huge. every club want's to play international , because it means the big stage and tremendous revenuess.

national leagues = regular season
euro league = minor playoffs
champions league = playoffs

missing CL is like missing the playoffs. coaches on certain teams get fired for that.

i know it's huge.. but my point is every other sport, that is the actual league

imagine if the champions league, was the actual league.. 30 teams, 35 games, no pushovers

champion's league is what, 20 games? and the teams do not choose their initial matchups (similar to the world cup.. groups of death, etc)

it is a small sample and matchup based.. not to mention, their are teams from lesser leagues that are in it, while better teams from better leagues are not in it

yes its exciting because you see the cream of the crop from each league, but it is nothing like what I mentioned could be (all the best teams in one league)..
