Philly sports talk radio has been talking about trading for Kyrie. Just baffling :banghead:

This is why I don't listen to sports talk radio anymore. You can find more intelligent discussion being had in a Facebook comments thread than the garbage spewed on 97.5 and WIP. Literally the lowest common denominator of sports fandom where casuals call in with mouth breathing takes all while the hosts knowledge isn't far better.

It's painful. I'm just so glad that the real Sixers media recognizes how truly awful they are, hold them accountable and call them out on it. The material you find on message boards (here, LB, etc) produced by fans is FAR AND AWAY more thought provoking and detailed then some of the actual writers that get paid to do it in this town. It's almost as if some of the main writers continue to have a personal vendetta against Sam Hinkie and continue to neglect talking about actual basketball analysis. Either that or they are truly idiotic.

Davis for Kyrie is really bad for NO.

How about Lebron + JR for Cousins + NO 1st 2018?
LeBron and AD would be exciting.
Kyrie, Love, and Cousins is not bad, however might be bad at defense?

Bron would never approve that trade.

Trade might be close, but Bron has no chance at a ring with that team.

I feel like Lebron is playing this season in Cleveland. There are very few teams he would go to, and those teams have nothing to trade.

I only see him accepting trades to Houston or SA, and they have nothing that would help Cleveland in a rebuild.

I agree. I often listen in the car on weekends. The Kyrie for Fultz convo wasn't very interesting so I tuned out. I like Devon Gibbons because you get some sixers talk but sometimes he is not up-to-date on obvious cap ramifications and such of transactions he suggests.

I wasn't interested but I thought discussing whether the sixers should pursue an available All-Star was valid conversation. I just personally have no interest in Kyrie and knew most of the callers would be casual basketball fans who don't understand the scenario in-depth, so I tuned out.

Although, Kevin Love played well, I think Cleveland needs to upgrade the PF Or C. Not sure who fits, maybe Draymond to make things more even. Lol

For the whole league, this season is possibly a wash. GSW are huge favorites, so you build the best team possible and hope the warriors somehow don't play their best basketball so you have a chance. The warriors at top form won't be beat.

Yup, I see LBJ playing this season with Cavs. Then with a crappy team showing, it gives him the excuse to pass the torch tour in Philly next year.

I do also see Bron playing this season out with the Cavs regardless.

There is one thing though, with Irving doing this, it gives Bron a logical reason to leave. It also keeps his legacy intact with Cavs fans, which is something he cares so much about. I've heard conspiracy theorists saying Irving did this on purpose and maybe trying to join Bron elsewhere, just don't think that's the case.

Bron will play out this season, no reason not to. After that, he's gone and Cavs fans now can't be mad about it. Bron got a ring for them, and he doesn't owe them anything plus his 'Robin' is acting crazy.

Perfect for Bron, which is also why he has no comment on the situation.

Oh no doubt about it. Any attention is good attention, and sadly that is reality with media these days. I typically listen to 97.5 mornings (I've always been a Gargano fan) and I used to listen to Rob and Harry, but now that Rob is gone I'm not sure what I'm doing. I like listening to Ike Reese on 94wip during football season. I'll typically listen to Joe Decamara on 94wip since he frequently gets interviews with Godner. I'm a big fan of Devon Givens on 97.5 since he devotes entire shows on breaking down the Sixers roster/news/etc.

I'm still waiting on when the day comes again where a Center can lead his team in scoring on a Championship team. Embiid is the league's best bet to do that.

Didn't the cavs had interest in McConnel last year? Maybe we could revisit that idea and trade him for Kyrie. Based on this article, they want a blue chip young player. McConnel fits that. If they want we could add Holmes and Okafor.

I like the direction of your team, but I don't get a chance to watch them on a regular basis. If you can ever get fully healthy I think you have a chance to be contenders for quite some time. Personally I think if you could get Irving for a package of Fultz, Bayless, and Okafor (no draft picks included) that you might extend that window by a few years. I understand that trading Fultz is a risk and he might turn out to be a superstar, but he might not too. You never know how unproven guys are going to turn out, but Kyrie is well established scorer and good three point shooter. I am not a Cavs fan at all, but Irving is a great offensive talent with some of that clutchness that any great team needs.

Irving, McConnell
Reddick, Stauskas
Covington, Luwawu
Simmons, Saric
Embiid, Holmes

Seems like a very good team to me with Bolden, Korkmaz, and Pasecniks still waiting for their turn next year.

Im pretty sure that by blue chip young player they have someone in mind along the lines of Simmons (god forbid), Porzingis, Giannis, Wiggins, ...

McConnell for Kyrie sounds very, very fair.

Hell no. Fultz is worth considerably more than Kyrie. Kyrie doesn't really make his team better despite having some elite skills. He gets his but ball stops too much and is a huge liability on the other end. I'd much prefer the ball in Simmons/Embiid/Fultz hands.

I'm also unclear how trading Fultz for Kyrie extends the window. We're not going to be an actual contender this year with Kyrie and Fultz is 6 years younger.
jonjames is a signature bet welcher.
