Anders reinforces how important athleticism is in MMA. He just closes on opponents before they know what hit them, and then he hits them with bungalows. He repeatedly threw his strong left. Then off that he'll take you down with some explosive entry. And there he'll smother and overwhelm you with gnp. He was a lot less technical than his last opponent in Brendan Allen, who could be a really good mw in his own right if that fight didn't f**k him up, but he kind of got mauled (although he did offer some resistance and return fire). I think the former Alabama National Champion Linebacker can get into the top 10 on this raw ability. But then to beat athletes with technical ability he'll need to develop more himself.

Entertaining card, for the most part. Brazilian Cowboy winning again, especially in that fashion, was not what we wanted. He's trolling us with this stuff. It looked like he wanted to beat up some guy in press row who probably bad-mouthed him deservedly for his antics. Agreed with the Good-Dos Santos decision, but not Cummins-Villante or Elkins-Bermudez. Fans won with the Rivera-Almeida fight. Fire hydrants in the 135 lb division, they're doing well man. Let's consolidate the divisions.

Weidman was too big and strong for Gastelum. Gastelum needs to cut out the tacos and convince the ufc to allow him to move back down. Weidman was never likely a product of USADA. He had a lot of injuries people were expecting all along to derail him, he fought killers, took a couple beatings to slow him down a half step. But he can still wrestle and that was a slick arm triangle to have it applied before Gastelum's back was to the mat. Couldn't react quickly enough and it was good night Irene. (RIP Schiavello on AXS).

Good win for Weidman! Glad to see him choke out Can't Make Weight Gastelum. One step closer to getting the belt back.

Lowest TV ratings for a FOX show ever, and apparently by a wide margin.

I'm not surprised. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seemed to me to be the weakest Fox card with the least amount of advertising for it.

I guess the UFC cares more about hyping a boxing match than their actual events now.

The UFC still doesn't seem to understand that they need PPV quality main events for these Fox cards to bring in the casual fans. The cards don't have to be as deep as PPVs, but they need name value at the top.

The Sage/Northcutt and Paige/Hottie card did very well so just depends what you mean I guess.

Yea I really don't think the main event was the issue here.

This issue is there was no drawing power on the card at all. Yeah, I guess you could load up the card with niche names like Paige and Sage, but the vast majority of the fighters who draw eyes are main eventers.
