Hard to tell. Usually with things like this, the media blow it up to be more than what it is. Then again, we can't know and it is this bad.

My gut tells me there is serious smoke to the fire, but they won't move him unless there is an overpay haul for him, which teams won't do (maybe the Knicks), or unless the relationships get so bad during the season they are forced to.

I don't understand why people are chastising Kyrie for wanting to leave. Why does he owe it to Lebron to be Lebrons bi*** essentially?

Depends what they can get back. Zach Lowe and Windhorst reported the Cavs want to keep the future in mind if trading Kyrie. Meaning they wont be trading him for a player like Melo. They said the Cavs are seeking a blue chip prospect and multiple contributing veterans in return.

Sounds to me like they will try to do a big 3 team deal and the most logical players for the Cavs to get in return is the Bledsoe (young, connection with LeBron, insurance with Rose) and Josh Jackson (blue chip prospect) and maybe some random backup bigman in the mold of Kosta Koufus from the 3rd team.

If they dont get what they feel will benefit the team and is good value--I think they hang onto him.

Before today I would say Cavs FO should find a way to try and wait it out and hope it cools down.. but now given the recent reports today about Kyrie accusing Lebron's camp for leaking.. then the report saying Bron wants to kick his ass... Seems like they're past the point of no return now..

Just another case of two divas who can't put their egos side to try and win...

Just a matter of will the wolves do it. The stage has been completely set for it to the point that it seems obvious.

- cavs no longer need a PG due to the Rose signing
- cavs have requested a "blue chip young player" in exchange for Kyrie
- with Kyrie requesting a trade cavs need more scoring

Wiggins almost makes too much sense

wiggins and rose are both chucks

replacing kyrie with those 2 would be absolutely hilarious..

As a Cavs fan, if they essentially trade Kyrie Irving for Derrick Rose, Eric Bledsoe, Josh Jackson, a pick then scrape up a backup big somehow before the season starts--I would actually feel really excited about the present and future if Josh Jackson reaches his potential.

That is a completely incorrect report. Windy suggested that as a possiblity for what the Cavs would ask for in return. He never said the Sun's would be willing to offer that.

He literally said he wasn't reporting that when he suggested it, for exactly this reason.

I really like Kyrie, but if the 76ers offer me a package centered around Markelle Fultz, I'd have a hard time saying no to that deal.

Yeah Suns aren't trading Booker, Jackson or any of their own picks for Kyrie.

Cavs can choose a couple of assets from Bledsoe, Warren, Bender, Chriss, Chandler, 2018 Miami 1st rd pick and 2021 Miami 1st rd pick.

I'd say probably, but only bc LeBron will probably want him out now rather than being a distraction. LeBron has an ego, he isn't going to want to have to get along with Kyrie all season long after Kyrie basically betrayed him in his eyes.

I wish they could get together and hash it out and agree to at least give it one more year together, but the damage is done at this point I think.

At this point yes, fortunately or unfortunately. I'm not really sure how to feel about it.

I'm not trying to trash Melo but not trading him for Kyrie is about the present as much as the future: Melo's a 33 year-old volume jump shooter who isn't efficient or especially productive. He's still useful and can get buckets but he's definitely worse than Kyrie now, and any trade involving the two would need major additional pieces to have any legs at all.

Wasabi_Johnson wrote:I would be shocked if he traded at this point. The time to trade him was before Paul , Butler , and George switched teams.
Care to explain? I don't see how that would make a huge difference, since everyone of those players went to teams that are at least as good as the teams that they left, and since no huge blue chip younger dudes were traded in any of the three deals.
