Cavs would ask for Nurkic as well.
Not sure why Portland would make that deal though, they need to unload their bad contracts not ditch their stars.
Nurk's too valuable for the Blazers on that 3mil contract. This trade works, though:
Blazers get: Kevin Love
Knicks get: Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert
Cavs get: Carmelo Anthony, C.J. McCollum
Might be able to maneuver Aminu in there somewhere if that's not good for the Cavs, but I don't know if the Blazers pull the trigger on that.
Why would the Cavs do that? You don't trade your 2nd and 3rd best player for two worse players on two worse contracts. Shumpert isn't that bad...
Anyways, it's completely unlikely that the Cavs trade both Irving and Love in the same deal. At this point it's going to be Irving out the door and there's no reason to trade Love at this point unless you get a great offer from someone else, aka another All-Star, and either an unprotected pick or another starting level guy.
Agreed that Love isn't going anywhere at this point, but the Blazers can throw in a sweetner. Zach Collins+ a first and it still works.
