I really don't get it. I think we're talking past each other here, because the fact that you're dragging me for wanting to watch a fun team is blowing my mind right now.

Is watching a bad team more virtuous in your eyes somehow?

I sometimes sleep at night...

Cya later dude.

hope you have a good rest

if you're still interested in discussion when you wake up, can you tell me what your views are on Bledsoe's future with this team, and how much money you think it'll take to keep TJ Warren? genuinely asking, because that might be where our differences lie

edit: I think I get why you took such an issue with me saying "it'll be fun to watch"; you might be thinking that I'm okay with the team getting worse as long as the team somehow becomes more enjoyable and fun

here's the thing: I don't think the team gets WORSE by moving Bledsoe and Warren for Kyrie. I really don't. I know you do, but I disagree.

I also think the team is in a better position going forward in multiple ways with Kyrie on board vs Bledsoe and Warren. I know you disagree.

The man has at least a half foot over him and rips down a half a rebound more a game. Kyrie gets doubled up on VORP which is interesting.Yeah, I know ones taller and younger but if I recall Kyrie has had his injury issues. I guess one could make a case for Kyrie being more durable in the future because he's bigger. I just can't fathom McD would entertain the idea of trading Josh. I cannot and do not believe he would do such a thing.

It looks like Thomas beats Kyrie across the board in everything. I wouldn't trade Bledsoe and Warren for Isaiah either, and he was better this past year.

I guess the difference there is age(25 vs 28) and team control/future contract(2 years for Kyrie, 1 year for IT, both looking for max deals after this one)

Plus don't forget the difference in height/weight. While neither is a good defender, Kyrie at least has the tools. IT doesn't and never will. 4 inches and 10 pounds make up for a lot in the NBA.

So... why isn't the discussion Kyrie for IT and stuff?

Oh my. McD is smarter than that. Dont even think about adding JJ + another asset in this deal. PLEASE
Other teams are making CRAP deals for him with a reason. Dont panic!

What do you guys think of this trade...

Cavs get: Eric Bledsoe, TJ Warren and Miami's 1st round pick (possibly more)
Kings get: Kyrie Irving
Suns get: De'Aaron Fox

Not a rumor or something that's being talked about.. just seeing if it's something that the Suns fan base likes

seems like a bit too much for Fox IMO; either TJ OR the MIA pick but not both

I'm not trying to vouch for Kyrie, I don't THINK I want him either, but I believe that's just as much Lebron as it is Kyrie on those. The Cavs are ABSOLUTELY built around Lebron, every player there depends on Lebron to be relevant, every play they run is with Lebron in mind and a part of. You take that cog away and things are going to take a while to get back. Yeah, this is telling that Kyrie might not be 'the guy', but that doesn't mean he's awful.

All that being said, I don't like his game. I feel like we can afford to be picky because we all feel comfortable with our assets, whether we use them to get a bigger fish, or we let them develop and pick up another asset at years end. I think now is the time to be patient. Kryie doesn't do it for us.

You could say the same about Harden, though the Rockets actually played better when he sat and Beverley ran it. When you are surrounded by shooters and rebounders, it should not be hard to move the ball and play well. They have some great shooters in Korver and Smith and even Love, and Love and Thompson are great rebounders. There is no reason they should be losing that bad with two all stars still on the floor along with shooters and a rebounder/rim protector.

Pretty sure we're one of the other teams making a crap offer for him. I don't think we're panicking. I think the Bled + JJ + pick thing is way, waaaay more than what we're offering. And I expect the Cavs FO is reeling from the fact that Paul George was the back up plan not too long ago and the reality now is falling well short of that.

I think the reality is that the Cavs will end up accepting two good - not great - players and a minor draft asset. Something like Middleton, Brogdon and a protected future first. I. Thomas, M. Morris and a first. Harris, Barton, Mudiay, and a first. Dragic, Winslow, J. Richardson. Bledsoe, Dudley, MIA '18. D. Green, K. Anderson, D. Murray, 1st. Hood, Favors, Exum.

Which to my mind opens up the possibility of something big like Bledsoe, Dudley, Knight, Chandler, MIA 1st for Irving, Smith, Shumpert, Frye. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ybceky5w

THAT I believe to be a worthwhile and fair trade.

Agree, too much, Fox is unproven and Bled and Warren are both proven in the NBA

As long as I'm lurking because of the Kyrie stuff, I appreciate the laugh.

Side question: how do you guys like the fit of Irving/Booker next to one another? I'm kind of wrestling with something similar if Denver brought in Irving and kept Murray. I'm not especially in love with that type of 2 next to Kyrie, but interested in what you guys think.

It's pretty evenly split, so it depends on who is answering you.

This.....This is what is wrong.

If you really think the 2017/2018 Suns will be better with Bledsoe and Warren instead of Kyrie then that's fine. You might even be right.

But don't pretend that you're 100% sure that's the case.

I see it as maximizing Bledsoe's value while it is still high. I worry about his knees and I certainly don't think he's going to be in a Suns uniform past his current contract.

I don't want to give up TJ either, but you don't get All-Stars for free.

It will likely take Jackson, so you are right in that you have to give up talent to get it.

FWIW, I've added a general Kyrie poll to the "Name one player you would like the Suns to acquire." thread.

Kyrie is a very fun to watch player, but for all you who hated the "Hero Ball" era of the Suns, this would be its second coming.

I don't feel like we need to trade for him. It's kind of like the Blake Griffin thing. Would it be fun? Sure. Would we really be a much better team? Not really.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I know this for sure: it's either going to be Denver or us. MAYBE Milwaukee, but I don't see the fit.

I don't see why I'd rather have TJ Warren's extended contract and Eric Bledsoe's extended contract in two years than Kyrie Irving. I'd rather have Kyrie Irving than those two. Eventually, as I said before, I think Cleveland will take it.

Yeah, Jackson will probably be the asking price, and at that price I hope McD walks away

Please no Kyrie. He never impressed me before LeBron and says some of the most idiotic things off the court. I don't want someone who thinks the earth is flat running the team.

I see.... we make ourselves worse and we make the cavs better.

Cool.

Here I thought I was on the Suns forum.

In two years Kyrie is probably taking his talents to South Beach or some other place.

Return to Phoenix Suns
