Guess the Nets really love Crabbe.

Maybe now they won't be able to offer max to Parker?

They're stretching Nicholson. Dude has 3 years left. The things that happen when you have a little success with a couple good players and start signing everybody to huge contracts.

I think nets want the Celtics to have a worse pick this upcoming year as well ha.

Same with the Kings. Sign vets, get out of bottom 3.

Hell of a turn for Marks. Offer gets matched, Washington dumps salary on him for a 1st rounder, barely a year after the offer's matched, he flips the dumped salary for the guy he wanted. How often does something come together that well. Still a bad contract (not fond of the Jarrett Allen pick either) but much less so considering the one he gave up.

Bucks probably could've flipped hawes for nicholson. I have no opinion of the guy or knowledge on his health. Just saying they probably could've done it and he would be a backup to fill in with Jabari out. Probably more of a need than Hawes unless Monroe/Henson are traded. Maybe could've gotten a 2nd rd pick or two back as well for taking on the extra two years.

Nicholson was a bad contract, Hawes is not.

I don't see the point in trading an expiring for a turd that's going to float in the toilet for a few extra years.

Would take a lot more than a couple seconds, especially with our contract situations.

Yea nowhere did I say we should have done it. Just saying it was probably out there easily. And 3/18 in today's NBA is like nothing (especially when already on hook for 1/6 of it) as long as the guy can get on the floor. Seems to have been hurt the last two years so a buy low, or possibly he'll never be a competent guy again due to it, I have no idea. Thing is we currently have like 5 Cs and no backups anywhere else besides Vaughn and Brown. There has to be something better out there than this guy though.

But this is no surprise. A lesson to the rest of the League not to match a max offer unless your are certain he is a core piece.

Jabari's situation is not the same but it can get similar. Jabari is a core piece but his injury history makes it tough to match a near max offer.

Everything for me rides on the type of contract he gets from our FO. I unfortunately have zero faith in them to get him at a relative discount.

If I knew he would do 3/40 after coming back next year and working towards health I'd have a lot harder time trading him.

As it stands we probably give him 4/75. But I am afraid it goes higher than that.

Unless it's step one of some multi-move process then this looks pretty dumb for Portland. Give up a contributor for free just to save Paul Allen ($20bn net worth) $44m?

But if it's step one of a multi-move process that ends up with them taking Ryan Anderson then it's still dumb.

That sucks. Was hoping he could have a rebound season. Still like the guy even if he's a very flawed player.

Allen Crabbe for Andrew Nicholson, Blazers waiving & stretching Nicholson. So far no picks mentioned but possibly MTC?

They traded Andrew Nicholson to Portland for Allen Crabbe. Portland then stretch-provisioned Nicholson.
