Uh, I know a lot of you are going to vomit...Glad Nicholson is gone, but Crabbe without another incentive sounds pretty meh considering his huge contract.

We might still get a pick it's very early breaking news.

This means Kilpatrick needs to go. Maybe even Goodwin too. Very thin at the big positions at the moment.

There's a lot of rumbling around the league and we are in a great position now to get involved and improve our team's future. None of these free agents would move the needle much for us if we are being honest with ourselves. Gotta keep the big picture in mind.
I And'1 this post and was going to add that holding on to cap space is like holding onto gold and seconds later we add Crabbe to the roster LOL.

How much capspace do you have left after this deal?

18m - 6m from dead salary = 12m essentially.
Crabbe at 12m per in our system is a great deal. Plus Crabbe waived his trade-clause kicker.
To me this move suggests there's definitely something else brewing since our roster has a complete logjam at the guard/wing positions while not much quality/depth with our bigs.

Are they going to retain Foye for his veteran presence? He damn sure isn't going to play.
LOL. No one is untouchable in this team.
Serious question: You expect to build anything by not making some guys untouchable? I guess Minnesota shouldn't make KAT, Wiggins untouchable?
Rebuilding 101.

That's with Foye or without Foye? I wonder because will Nets have enough cap space to go into FA and sign Mirotic or JaMychal Green.

D'Angelo Russel, Allen Crabbe, DeMarre Carroll, Timofy Mozgov, a 1st and a second
For Brook Lopez, and some cap space -- is not a bad off season.
Thank you Paul Allen for stubbornly insisting on matching on Crabbe last summer...

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
I currently have our lineup as
Lin/Dlo/Levert/RHJ/Mozgov
Dinwiddie/Kilpatrick/Crabbe/Carroll/Booker
Whitehead/Goodwin/Harris/Acy/Allen
Crabbe coming off foot surgery makes him a bench player. Allen will split backup minutes at C with Booker. Whitehead will also see spot minutes at guard. Probably another trade during season.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
I think it's helpful looking at our roster the way Atkinson said he looks at it to predict the lineup. “We have our smalls, our perimeters that can handle the ball. Then we have our wings. Then you have your shooting bigs and your rolling bigs.”
Smalls - Lin (Dinwiddie/Whitehead)
Perimeter Ball handlers - Russell (Levert/Kilpatrick)
Wings - Carroll (Crabbe/Harris)
Shooting bigs - Booker? (RHJ/Acy)
Rolling bigs - Mozgov (Allen)
Lin and Russell are going to do the majority of the ball handling. Levert, Carroll, and Crabbe will likely fill most of the wing minutes and I wouldn't be shocked to see any of them end up as starter. Dinwiddie, Kilpatrick, Harris, Whitehead will compete as backups. In the frontcourt they're very thin with bigs, so that's where it would make a lot of sense to swap guard depth for a big who can shoot. Or if Levert/Crabbe start at the 3 then maybe they go with Carroll as a shooting big?

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
What should our starting lineup be?
I'm thinking
Russell
LeVert
Crabbe
RHJ
Mozgov
Lin can come off the bench. I actually think we should try and trade him for a pick at the deadline.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
I would agree with Russell-Crabbe-Levert-RHJ-Mozgov as my preferred starting line-up if we consider our current roster.
Lin-IW-Din-DMC/Acy-Booker/Allen off the bench.
I think the ball-handlers are evenly spread-out and our death-lineup to closeout games would be Lin-DAR-Crabbe-CL-RHJ
