By the way, you can't trade 3 first round picks in a row. The 2019 would have to be a swap.

pretty sure your interpreting it wrong, pretty sure hes saying top 10 protected in 18 if doesn't convey then top 3 protected in 19 if still doesn't convey then fully unprotected in 2020.

Keeping it real. I used to blane the FO more. I bought into Mike D should have adjusted at first. I didn't realize he didn't want Melo to begin with. Then when i heard he wanted Deron...bye.

Point is....not only did Me7o drive up the price and threaten to go to Brooklyn...to get his max...and cost more assets. When he gets here...he doesn't want to play for the HC in his system.

This is important because...as sick as we were of no defense...this guy sacrificed years of his W/L record and the misery that goes with losing in NY. He was promised a pot of gold and was given a pile of go **** yourself.

They NEVER got him a PG. THEN they changed direction because...after years of repair to build him a team....They gave it away for Melo. Then Melo said nah b. I play 17 SOM ISO. **** running up and down the floor BS.

Then Lin becomes the PG and Melo scoffs at playing off of that. I don't want to hear the 85% talk. It's about Melo right now. If he wanted Lin back....the Knicks would have never let him entertain FA.

This causes a coaching change and with it...ANOTHER roster overhaul...still paying for the trade that got him here.

This is where the sins of the FO compound shyt. Melo didn't help but...they really just did so many dumb things starting with Billups extension and immediate amnesty. Etc etc...yada yada yada.

During that blitzkrieg of complete incompetence...they get a 54 win formula for success. Which is why I STILL defend the trade. The colossal mistakes including the Bargs thing...losing Lin for nothing....blah blah blah were worse than(but don't excuse) Melo doing his dumb ****.

Then it falls apart the next year because we made mistakes and had no real means to add talent.

Enter PMFJB.

Melo was his first real decision and he Knucked(Knicks + f×ked) it up. Melo explored leaving us...and instead of staying and recognizing he should leave money to build with. He gets a NTC PLUS KICKER because...."at the end of the day"...he didn't want to leave and wants to retire a Knick.

Fast forward to now!

This post should get its own thread!

Free Melo....for sure. Just don't act like he deserves his jersey in the rafters.

It's over. Yet the argument will never end.

Hopefully nothing happens. I'm scared of what kind of trade Morey can talk Mills into. As Mills views the contracts of Hardaway and Baker as legitimate you have to fear him viewing the contract of Anderson or whatever player that mysterious third team would throw at us "as not that bad".

The best case for the Knicks is to either buy out Melo or letting him play out the year and hopefully exercise his player option.
