If Melo backs out of a Cavs deal, then I am benching his ass all season. He can stfu and go on vacation. Resort him to off the bench chucker

on some level this type of reaction is understandable but it would not be a good look. The last thing that a young team trying to grow together needs, is a disgruntled former superstar on the bench. No matter what, the Knicks need to resolve the Melo situation gracefully (or as gracefully as possible).

I'm trying to stay mellow about the situation, but its very hard to be patient.

I understand that. But thinking ahead, just imagine what type of drama an Anthony benching would bring to this team. If management is unable to find a decent Anthony deal then it should be handled as gracefully as possible. Anthony is by far the best SF on this team. Benching him would turn next season into a complete circus and I think another drama filled, circus like season would be almost a breaking point in the longterm commitment of Porzingis.

That said I think he will be dealt sooner rather than later. Due to the Phil Jackson handling of the situation , a return of Melo next season would be an extremely awkard situation.

I believe that Zhao Qi can't be traded until August 5th, so that might be holding things up.

If that's the case, a number of our members on this board and on the Houston board won't survive long enough to ever see it happen.

Well if the option is "not looking good" or taking back Ryan Anderson, I'm all for not looking good. The Knicks have to get positive value back in this deal or they shouldn't make the deal at all until one comes. Melo is under contract with the Knicks and that's that.

We'd have to take back Kanter and someone else (probably McBuckets).

And I would sign up for this immediately. Or even Singler. Both him and Kanter off the books in 2019.

Ultimately, something like this goes down. Like I've said, Melo is going to the Cavs for Love.

THAT is your problem with this trade idea? Not that the Pelicans trade Cousins, have to take Anderson's contract and get no talent whatsoever in a trade for a perennial all-star they just gave up a lot to get? And, you wouldn't want Cousins FOR NOTHING? REALLY?

benching Melo makes us look worse than we already are, who the **** would want to sign with us if we give off that kind of image. not cool
