On Isaiah Whitehead's girlfriend's Instagram he says in the second to last story "I got traded"

https://www.instagram.com/thatbriachick/

You need to use the app to view Instagram stories but he clearly says it while checking his phone

Might be a joke but he sounds very serious

I would like to keep Harris and Goodwin though.

The only value I see in Skil is that he's cheap, other than that I don't see why other teams trade a second for him unless it's (another) salary dump. Even then, who's out there that can fill the role of stretch big?

I'm meh on Harris/Goodwin, I like them but I wouldn't lose sleep if we trade them.

That's exactly his appeal. A guy who can come off the bench and score in bunches for the Vets min. A capped out playoff team would love to add that for a second rounder.

^But it doesn't solve our problem of needing more bigs. I'd rather trade him for a serviceable stretch big than another 2nd rounder, especially a really low one if it's from a capped out playoff team, but at the same time there's just no one out there we can get with him.

The main issue now is our big rotation. I think Acy can be penciled in as a stretch 4. RHJ gives us defense at multiple spots, rebounding, and slashing. Both he and Booker can initiate the break off of rebounds. Can Mozgov become a 33-34% 3pt shooter? Allen, I don't know what to expect yet in year 1.

I think that we need to trim the fat on in the backcourt and get another big that can shoot.

knocking down open shots is great... but you need guys who create offense. can lin/Dlo carry that load? we will see

I think they both can. how efficiently that happens however, is another story entirely :-?

if you ask me, Goodwin, Skil, and Harris should be the odd players out (in that order)

I'm almost thinking this could be the lineup and plan for this year:

Starters -- Lin / Dlo / Crabbe / RHJ / Mozgov
Bench -- Din / CLV / DMC / Booker / *FA big
Extras -- Archie / Skil / Harris / Acy

That's a solid distribution of skill and talent across 2 lineups.

send Whitehead and Allen to G League team at the start of the season. Not necessarily b/c they "deserve" it, but b/c if they're playing sparing minutes in blowouts, I'd rather have them getting the minutes and playing semi-competitive ball. Reality is Whitehead may get bumped down b/c of landing Crabbe, CLV needing those minutes, and Din just playing smarter ball. And JA may just need to get his feet wet a little more before being thrown into a major reserve role.

- If a deal for Archie/Skil combo presents itself.... HOPEFULLY for a late first rounder, we send them then call up Whitehead.
- Once Allen is showing signs of progress, we call him up and move the vet min. big down in the rotation. Or maybe he just stays in Long Island all season and comes up in 18-19.

I'm not sure what other bigs are still out there for this cheaper price. Seems like Sully is going to China, Plumlee doesn't really "fit" and may want more money, Green at 6'9 could be it maybe... but he's probably going to want more money too. Maybe we could move Archie for Green in a S&T and offer him 2/10? Or maybe we find some Euro big for cheap and take a flyer on him. Maybe Denver will trade one of their bigs?

I am optimistic and think we could make a push for a low playoff seed, but I'm also majorly concerned about our lack of defensive pieces.

I just saw it... he says it while checking his phone, reclined in the car seat, with his baby laying on his belly. He's says it kinda nonchalantly but in a serious way... and immediately it goes to the next story.

something to probably be on the lookout for today.

We should be hearing it soon then. It makes a lot of sense since he is not going to get enough PT that is good for his development with the logjam of guards we have.

Yeah I mean there just aren't minutes for both Whitehead and Dinwiddie. Whitehead being a recent 2nd round pick who looked pretty good, he's probably got the most value out of all the backup guards. I hope not because I love his mentality and ability to get to the basket, but it would make sense.

Also the fact that they haven't had much of a public release on the Crabbe trade seemingly backs up that there's a followup move in the works. Or else I think we'd have heard about media availability for Marks/Atkinson discussing the move.

FYI, Woj had D'Angelo Russell on his latest pod, talking about his move to the nets and laker years. Link below:

I would hate to send Whitehead to the D League.

Hes so young and has more potential.

I would way rather give him minutes than the D League/Reject crew of Goodwin/Kilpatrick/Harris/Dinwiddie

Whitehead and Dinwiddie are a close call for me. Dinwiddie's length, outside shooting, and low turnovers make him a lot better suited to backup PG. Whitehead's definitely better getting to the rim, but that outside shot is a big drawback.

Looks like Sullinger is off to China.

Also I hope IW trade info is some fake news... would be very disappointed but I'll wait to see what the other parts of the deal are before passing judgement.

I could very well see Lin/Russell/Carroll/RHJ/Mozgov starting with Dinwiddie, Crabbe, LeVert rotating in with the bigs.

Can someone post the video on here? I think if somebody just posts the link, it will automatically render the video into the right format.

I still dont think we need a big. a 4 man rotation of RHJ, Booker, Acy, Mozgov and then adjust that based on how much allen can play right away.

i dont think we need a 6th big especially if we go small more this year

I have no problem rolling into the season with our big rotation being RHJ/Booker/Acy/Mosgov, it's more to do with depth. If one of the 4 guys you mentioned goes down we'd be in real trouble. It really puts pressure on the bigs to perhaps play more minutes than they should otherwise.

We could play small like you said, but apart from Carroll, who else could fill in at the spot?
