ESPN Insider also doesn't have video as far as I know, so I wonder if they stop doing their video breakdowns completely.

Are you calling $30 a year expensive?

That's like 75 cents a week

Doesn't mean it's worth it.

And who knows what the price will be now.

It's all relative. Amazon Prime is $99 per year. Netflix about the same-ish price. It's the equivalent of paying $99 per year for an all you can eat buffet any day of the week for an unlimited number of times all year. ESPN Insider is $30 per year for one TV dinner per week, in comparison. $30 isn't a lot, but compared to other yearly services it's a total ripoff.

How much each person values it is one thing, but it is very cheap.

As internet content gets better and better, and more mobile, and on demand, people will start paying directly for content like this, and it's a good thing. You just have to be worth the money.

The content doesn't have to be spectacular to be worth $30 a year though.

The sad thing about the DraftExpress/ESPN merger is you know they won't have Givony or Schmitz on NBA Draft night. They'll still shove the awful Rose and Wilbon down our throats.

At some point, it's going to fall to the more hardcore fans to support quality writing if we want to read it. If $30/year is too much, Insider comes free with an ESPN the Magazine sub. You can often find them on sale for less than $10/year. I got 4 years for $18 total the last time my Insider was running out. I just don't give the crap like Chad Ford any clicks.

I don't want to support much of what ESPN does either, but if the content is the same, I would suspect everyone posting here would get that much content out of DX every year. I just hope they don't screw with the videos.

The magazine thing is what I did as well. It's like a quarter a month. Makes sense from their perspective too since it artificially inflates their distribution numbers to raise the rates on magazine ads.

Yep.

Easy to find the $10/year with a google search.

I know crapping on all things ESPN is fashionable but Insider has plenty of good stuff that you can't find anywhere else. It's the only part of the company that has good analysis from time to time. Bringing in the DX guys continues that.

Better prospect: Michael Porter Jr or Marvin Bagley?

I've seen a lot of game footage and highlights of both, but since I haven't really seen full games of either, I don't know how good of a shooter Bagley is.

Just based on video, I've been more impressed by Bagley.

Bagley, by far. That's not an insult to Porter -- it's a giant compliment to Bagley.

I got pretty deep into Bagley film when the talk came out that he could be looking to reclassify and in my opinion, he's the best big man prospect since Anthony Davis. That's factoring in Joel's injury, of course.

I think the top of this class has the chance to be special with Bagley included. Bagley, Porter, Ayton and Doncic look to have superstar upside. Bamba could turn into a Gobert-type, Collin Sexton just has that "it" factor, Jaren Jackson and Mitchell Robinson are extremely talented bigs, Rui Hachimura is a MAJOR sleeper right now, Miles Bridges is a safe bet to be a good to very good NBA wing, Isaac Bonga has a fascinating skill set, and I love the Miami pair of Bruce Brown and Lonnie Walker as potential 76ers.

That doesn't even mention Dzanan Musa, Robert Williams, Hamidou Diallo, Mikal Bridges, Wendell Carter, Kevin Knox, Trevon Duval, Troy Brown, Josh Okogie, Nick Richards, Gary Trent Jr, Brandon McCoy, Jarred Vanderbilt, Rodions Kurucs, Billy Preston, Deng Adel, Allonzo Trier, Arnoldas Kulboka, Killian Tillie, Chimeze Metu, De'Anthony Melton, Andrew Jones, Shake Milton, Grayson Allen, Landry Shamet, Justin Jackson, Brian Bowen, Borisa Simanic, Laurynas Birutis, Omari Spellman and a bunch more interesting names.

I'm really excited about what this draft could turn into and thrilled to potentially add two more top 15 or so picks to this team next year.

Inside the arc, athletic scorers that are natural PFs aren't the most valuable player archetype in the modern NBA. For me to get excited about Bagley, he needs to display plus rebounding and high level rim protecting so I can feel good about him as a C.

As of now, Porter strikes me as a significantly better and more coveted prospect.

We still got three 2nd's for next year; some intriguing local prospects for the Sixers to look at; Obi Enechionyia from Temple, a stretch 4 with good length. Mikal Bridges is a late 1st round pick in my opinion but might slip to the 2nd, a guy that has NBA defensive ability and is probably the best player on the floor at all times when he doesn't have to score. James Demery out of St. Joe's is an athletic wing who has a similar game to Bridges but isn't as good of a offensive threat. Finally, BJ Johnson out of La Salle, a 6'7 scorer, has a smooth lefty jump shot, shouldn't be surprised if he gets more attention as he is the focal point of the Explorers offense, has great length on the defensive end.

We'll agree to disagree there. In fact, you can see Porter and Bagley's team's play against each other in a game that I believe is on YouTube. Bagley looks like an elite game-changing talent to me anytime I've seen him, while Porter looks like he could be a superstar. Both are sensational, but I think Bagley is a half-tier ahead.

I also don't see any reason Bagley won't be able to play center in the modern NBA.

It's so hard to evaluate players like them on high school tape because they are so much bigger and stronger than everyone else. They can score any time they want, it's a joke. I mean you can see their individual abilities to a degree, but no one can contest them. I don't think we'll know til the start of the college season for each

I think Zion Williamson is good but it's just something about him that I'm not sold on. He doesn't shoot. His body is kind of weird to me too. It's going to be very interesting how he looks against college players. I want to see a lot more.

Bagley is already a very good rebounder and an above average rim protector. His versatility on defense is astounding. Porter does have the big edge with his jumpshot. I think both are top tier prospects but I gotta go with Bagley because of his overall game and ya his jumpshot is still a work in progress, he has tremendous form with his jumper, so I think the potential is there.

I expect the Sixers own pick to fall between 14-20, and in that range I would be targeting Mikal Bridges.

honestly, I don't know how you guys can talk about draft prospects 365 days a year.

I feel like this past year especially has been filled with so much analysis because we had the potential for two top-5 picks.

I can't keep up that level of interest in prospects tbh. I was only really following the draft so heavily because our team wasn't very good yet.

Now that we have playoff aspirations, I doubt I'll be very focused on East Wichita A&M's can't miss 6'8 swing man with a 7'4 wingspan and AHHHHHH

IM DONE

if I hear the words "wingspan" or "ceiling" or "floor" or any other questionable pro comparison, I might go postal

but more power to you though
