Yeah, I think just Gambo. Perhaps then it isn't 100% true, but that's a funny thing to report (that we specifically told a player) and have it be not true. But who really knows.

I think Gambo just likes to hear himself talk half the time. I mean a lot of people here say things like "We are not trading Jackson" even before the Gambo stuff, "We are not trading ____________" like it is a fact and not just their opinion. It just seems like a different source, or even McD himself would have said that...wasn't sure if he had.

Ramona Shellburne also reported that.

Definitely, and seeing as how he has performed as LeGM, I pray to god that team is not Phoenix. He overpays damn near everyone and has shown to have an awful eye for talent (as many great players have).

Tough call. Lebron who is a champion vs. Sarver who pretty much destroyed this franchise

That teams say they won't trade players all the time.

I'm growing more and more concerned that we will start the season with Irving on our team. Which is fine...as long as Jackson is still a Sun.
With Bledsoe working out with LeBron and Booker adding Irving on Instagram....I realize those are minor things, but they are things that suddenly happened when the rumors began.

Josh Jackson can be dealt 8/5. The longer nothing happend the more concerned I'm going to get.

I really hope not. I see your concern though. I would hope, since the Suns have reportedly told Jackson he won't be traded, that they respect that and do not trade him. How bad would it look to tell a rookie straight up that we won't deal him and then two weeks later we trad him?

Who reported we told him that? Just Gambo?

Ramona Shelburne said it too.

MJ, Isiah Thomas, etc.. Tons of NBA champions have been worse than Sarver in exec roles. Lebron has run the Cavs damn near his entire career, and their only saving grace was that the NBA gifted them a bunch of 1st overall picks after he left and then that he signed there after. Otherwise, his "GMing" gets them nowhere near a title. He traded Wiggins for Love, then overpaid a ton of role players to put his team in such an unwinnable long-term scenario that he is all but guaranteed to leave next season because they have no prayer and will have to embark on a rebuild much like what we are going through (except with 0 cap space and tons of luxury tax issues), all 2 years after a title because he KILLED their felixibility by demanding they re-sign these mediocre role players to huge deals.

Sorry, I'm taking Sarver.

You see that tweet below her comment? She is basically just forwarding on what Gambo said. I'm talking independent sources not just repeating Gambo's words.

Yeah, I saw that. She usually has information, though.

If Kyrie wants to go to the Knicks, French Frank and Melo should do it. Send Bled to the Cavs so we get French Frank. Fine.

He didn't list us. I say let's not take a dumb risk and trade for a guy who really wants to be elsewhere. I'll settle for Frank, sure.

That being said, if it were discussed, it would be done by now. I still think we might come up with the best offer. As of now, I'm not sure that I want to do that. He should be where he wants to be, period. If that's not Phoenix, we should let it go.

"Suns have reassured Jackson of this too". That sounds like a completely difference source to me.

And Gambo in his yesterday's show sounded like he was willing to bet his life on Jackson not getting traded for Kyrie. It's just a reasonable thing to do in the Suns position and McD is a smart guy. I'm not worried at all.

Uhh lebrons only ran them for 3 years. Dude didn't do any management chit his first 7. And if not for injuries and kd forming quite likely the greatest team of all time, they very well could be sitting on a 3peat in 3 years.

I'm not really worried we will trade Jackson for him. I was just curious about another source. Not sure if I really think she has a different source or not, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

Not that it really changes much since we're debating if Gambo is right or not but I asked him a question and he responded:

Well, it's not really up to Kyrie, but I wouldn't trade for anyone who has a list of teams they want to play for if you're not on it. Sounds like a pretty short sighted move. Now if it's just for Bledsoe and Dudley sure...worth the risk..or even the Miami 18 too..but that's about it.

And then we could always probably flip him to one of those teams ourselves if we didn't feel he was going to stay. He's not the type of player you want to walk out the door leaving you with nothing though. Especially if you are a GM with one year left on your deal watching the team take another step back.

Yeah, I think just Gambo. Perhaps then it isn't 100% true, but that's a funny thing to report (that we specifically told a player) and have it be not true. But who really knows.

At the same time though, everyone knows that it's someone's opinion when people use that figure of speech. I would hate to caption everything I'm about to say with "it's just my opinion, but..."

Sure, I know. Personally, especially if I'm talking with fans of other teams on the General board or trade board, I state it more such as "I have no idea what our front office will do, but personally I hope we ___________"

If our front office is anything, it's unpredictable, unless you predict they will talk rebuild, then try to win now, then go back and forth, continually, forever.

Not necessarily. If there is a rookie in a proposed trade then it couldn't be completed for a few more days. Rookies aren't tradeable yet.

You make a valid point. I forgot about that. Maybe the Knicks/Suns/Cavs three way is a done deal.....maybe not. Who knows?

Return to Phoenix Suns
