Re: The Greek National Team thread
Was Giannis even a basketball player last time Greece made the Olympics?
Also worth noting Spanoulis was never as good as Delly was at the 2016 Olympic games. FACT.

who does Australia have to beat to qualify for the Olympics? Tonga and Easter Island?

Re: The Greek National Team thread
The difference is that for us to qualify is that we have to play against good european teams. While Australia competes against NZ and some countries that have to recruit all males between 15-99 to make a team

Not sure it matters given we tend to finish 4th overall when we have more than half a healthy team. It's not like there aren't **** Euro teams qualifying each time around anyway. I mean either France (all pussies) or Germany (just Dirk) tend to show up alternatively. Lithuania have been bog average since the end of the cold war. (and so damn ugly, like they are all in-bred South Africans)

Re: The Greek National Team thread
England have been in the Olympics more recently than Greece!!
Never mind they got the home team ticket to play like Greece got in 04. (so Greece have earned their spot twice in 64 years and three times ever.)

They are my favorite team of FIBA Oceania Championship !
Enough now I will go back in reading my book, called "Australia's Success in World Basketball", here is a photo of BOTH pages :

You count qualifications as successes? Trust me if you were qualifying from Europe you wouldn't see many Olympics. Angola, Puerto Rico and China manage to qualify from weak conferences as well. You have to beat Fiji and Tonga to qualify, we have to beat everybody that counts (minus Usa) to have success in our continent's tournament.
And when we play head to head in Olympics and WC he have been beating you for the last 20 years

You have to beat Fiji and Tonga
Read it too fast and thought they were some kind of oceanic sex toys at first..
So you tell me that Delly has to guard these people every couple of years just to qualify to the Olympics?

Yep that year we didn't deserve to be playing. Was just after the Gaze era which was a very ugly time.

Re: The Greek National Team thread
Our players have too much sex during Olympics to do anything more than dragging their dry husks on the court, unlike their Southern Lithuanian counterparts
Also Baddy chooses to forget the international competitions his team has a worse winning percentage than Chile

Re: The Greek National Team thread
Ok I propose a truce with the Oceanic titan. After all, we are all Giannis fans (and a bit of Thon, Delly fans)
the truce should hold till one of the teams earns a medal when some bragging is allowed

No truce until something interesting Bucks related happens or the season starts.

Re: The Greek National Team thread
Greece vs Australia is a futile war anyway.
Nobody really wants to conquer the other.
If they beat us they will inherit our debt sell their kangaroos to Germany.
If we beat them we will have to live with their spiders and other deadly ****.
Also their most beautiful women go to Hollywood anyway..

Re: The Greek National Team thread
I have Andrew Gaze's bio here, describing his time playing in Greece in '94-'95
He said he ended up sleeping with a carving knife under his pillow because he was scared of Greek fans LOL

Here is Greece, we have a lot of fun with basketball.
Especially when playing among ourselves.
