Man, I really hope GSP doesn't ruin his legacy with this comeback. Dude got me into MMA and I would love to see him fight again. But at the same time, I hope he doesn't end up embarrassing himself just to chase a couple more paychecks.

I want to see him fight Jay. He has less miles on him as well due to his long ass break. Although I'd want him to fight the older guys such as bisping etc. Make's the playing field more even. GSP always played it safe too and "kinda like Floyd in that regard" So he should be fairly good to go. He's 36, Tyron Woodley I did not know is 35 and he's ruthless.

True. Hopefully he's over that ACL tear as well by now. After the controversial way his last fight ended, it would definitely be satisfying to see him make a comeback and show everyone that he still got it. Of course, losing this fight would just give the haters more ammo lol.

Bisping would've been a great opponent, fight would've been hype. But I think White hates that matchup though lol. Looks like GSP fights either Woodley or Maia.

It would be 4 years since his last fight. I think any non-life/career threatening injury would've been healed by now, especially considering how athletic and mobile the dude is.

Yeah, either Woodley/Maia. I'd be worried for GSP If It's Woodley's bomb's though lol.

Still GSP has the GOAT attire entrance of all time.

Fun to see the WWE like shambles but the theatrics from McCain like he's above the likes is too much for me. He'll fall in line the next chance he gets like usual. Props to McCain but moreso Murkowski and Collins for taking a stand from jump street

Wexler got a cute little booty on her though.

I am legit watching this new series as we speak Bish. On Ep 9. So far It's an okay substitute. Bateman is a good actor, hard to take em seriously though.

Yeah its very hard to take him seriously. Even in serious situations I crack a smile or two, can't do it, but had nothing to watch.

Finished watching Ozark a couple of days ago. Really good show. Some episodes drag but overall, it is solid. The finale is nuts.

So, since I shared the good news at the beginning of the year of how my team, São Paulo Futebol Clube, beat two of our rivals in the Florida Cup, I need to also give the bad news. Simply put, this is the worst year in our history so far. We were eliminated in the São Paulo State Championship (sort of a preseason for the national championship), the Brazilian Cup, the South American Cup, and right now we are one of the worst teams in the 38-game Brazilian Championship. The four worst teams go to the second division next year. There is no tanking in international soccer.

There are many reasons for our failure, but my belief is that the front office is the primary culprit. First, they hired our idol, Rogério Cení, to be our football manager. He has never managed any club or even coached before this job. He brought in a team of advisers from English soccer with notebooks and metrics, drew up dozens of plays, and tried to reteach the game to our players.

The victories in Tampa and Orlando gave us hope. Beating River Plate and Corinthians is a big deal. Both teams are gritty and implacable foes. They also have vast resources.

The Paulista campaign, however, brought us back to earth. We really never played well. Add to that our other eliminations and it was no surprise to see Rogerio fired from the coaching position. His record was 14-11-10. I believe he was a bode expiatório, a fall guy, a scapegoat. Our cynical front office made some incredibly bad transactions:

Out:

Michel Bastos (released for nothing): A solid left midfielder, who was being forced to play on the defense. He probably did have to leave the team, but it would have been nice to get something back.

David Neres (Ajax): Brilliant 20-year-old player with star potential on a cheap contract. Ajax paid €12M to take him away, a decent fee for now, but it will look ridiculous soon enough. In 12 games, he's scored 3 goals. His estimated value now (4 months later) is €18M. Stupid.

Carlinhos (Internacional): A left back who was always hurt. Spent big money for him with little return.

Lyanco (Torino): Solid young center back, part-Serbian, sold to Torino for €6M.

Luiz Araujo (Lille): 21-year-old striker who played 26 games with us, mostly coming off the bench. He scored 4 goals. What is most impressive is how he could dribble through the defense. We sold him for €10.5M but kept only 80% because Mirassol had rights to 20%.

Maicon (Galatasaray): Experienced center back who was a hero for us last season as a loanee from Porto. This season his football fell to pieces. We were fortunate to get the €7M we paid for him, but we also ceded rights to two players to Porto to lock up the deal. They're gone. It could have been worse.

Thiago Mendes (Lille) - Maybe our best glue guy in the midfield. He is combative and still gets into position to score. €9M transfer fee looked cheap. Until now with the arrival of Hernanes, we had nobody with his skill set.

João Schmidt (Atalanta) - Signed by Atalanta as a free agent. A 24-year-old midfielder who was 7 years at our team. Never flourished, but always looked like he was close. We got nothing for him.

Kelvin (Porto) - Returned loanee to Porto. A good dribbler. Nice skills.
Mena (Cruzeiro) - Good left full back who can also play left wing back. We returned him to one of our rivals just to lower our salary expense. Left wing back is one of our weakest positions.

Daniel (Coritiba) - This is debateable. Daniel is a young player with many talents, especially making killer passes that break down defenses. He's not physically strong and has been injury prone. We loaned him to Coritiba, and he is doing well.

Auro (America-Minas Gerais) - Auro is playing better at America on loan than any of our right backs. Good young player. Not sure why he was loaned but it looks dumb at the moment.

Foguete (Vila Nova) - Another right back who likes to play more forward. Again, with all our problems, the loan looks the stupid.

About 8 other players were also loaned. Several other players sold. There has been a constant churning with little stability which is terrible for morale.

In:

Cicero (Fluminense) - 32-year-old midfielder. He has great experience but hasn't performed well for us. Jucilei's average play was enough to bench him.

Lucas Pratto (Atletico Mineiro) - 29-year-old striker. Argentinean. SPFC is his 9th team. He is our leading goal-scorer this season with 10 in 24 games. What is most amazing is how many goals that he fails to score. Because he is in the center of our attack, he gets 5 chances a game. Scoring 1 of 12 is not good enough. He signed a contract that will pay him about €6M over the next two years. That's a lot for a guy who doesn't score enough chances.

Jucilei (Shandong Luneng) - 29-year-old defensive midfielder that we repatriated from China. Jucilei came up through the Corinthians system, so I regard him with suspicion, but in truth, he performs well destroying the other team's flow with punishing tackles. He's no replacement for Thiago Mendes, but a team needs a player or two like this to keep the other team's honest.

Thomaz (Jorge Wilstermann) - 31-year-old left back, a Brazilian that we signed from a Bolivian club (how far a fall is that?), Thomaz is an average defender and below-average attacker. He was cheap.

Maicosuel (Atletico Mineiro) - 31-year-old defensive midfielder in his 13th season. He has played only 46 minutes and is injured.

Petros (Betis) - 28-year-old attacking midfielder has scored once in seven games. He has been decent in his games but seems quite limited.

Robert Arboleda (Uni Cat - Ecuador) - 25-year-old central defender that came in to replace Maicon. He's not been terrible but needs to improve if he expects to stay.

Jonathan Gomez (Santa Fe) - a 27-year-old midfielder who is pretty poor so far.

Loanees:

Denilson (Avai) - a 22-year-old striker who relies on getting past his defenders, advertised as a cheap replacement for Luiz Araujo who could actually dribble and score goals. So far Denilson hasn't impressed.

Marcinho (São Bernardo) - another young player (22) who we've played in the midfield, though he was a defender before. Started 14 games for us and part of some of our worst sides. I never saw him as a bad player, but he hasn't done enough obviously.

Hernanes (Hebei China Fortune) - One of our heroes from last decade's triumphant 3-year residency at the top of the league (2006-2008, 3-time champions), Hernanes has returned to the come from behind victory over Botafogo. Did he return soon enough to save us?

Wellington Nem (Shakhtar Donetsk) - Returned to Brazil from Europe at 25 years old. Billed as our salvation, he scored 1 goal in 12 games as our striker. Disappointing is an understatement.

Edimar Fraga (Cruzeiro) - Impressive how many rival players are now on our team. Edimar is 31. Today's game was his 3rd start.

----

One fact that is clear: We sold €47M worth of players. We haven't spent any money buying players, although we've signed free agents and added some through loans.

----

The new football manager is Dorival Junior, who is well-known for saving struggling teams. He is 2-2-1 over the last five games.

Today, however, we had a triumphant victory in Rio de Janeiro.

46 buses of fans traveled the 5.5 hours to Rio de Janeiro. We were losing 3-1 with 6 minutes to play in the second half. 4-3 victory.
