I was hearing from my sauces that no way would Jackson would be included in any deal for Kyrie. Maybe that is true based on what you posted?

I believe Phoenix has told Jackson that he will not be traded. Remember though that he can't officially be traded until August 2nd.

Also, Cleveland told Wiggins the exact same thing in 2014 in regards to the Love trade, and we all know what happened.

Of course....goes without saying. But there is a true and not true aspect to this, and maybe it's true that they wouldn't add Jackson. And it may he true that for Kyrie they definitely would trade Jackson, but something else might be the hangup.

My opinion is that Kyrie stays put, and this doesn't mean a thing in the regular season.

Lebron at this point is in the running for top 10 all time.

And now he can't close-in on Bill Russell's 11.

He's top 5.

Man if I'm PHX, i give up Jackson for Kyrie. Jackson will not be an all-star in this league IMO. Great role player/utility man, no doubt. But he doesn't scream star to me.

There are teams (including bad ones) that could have flipped their roster for 3 of Cousins, Butler, George, Irving.

Yet fans and GMs don't want to do individual deals unless they can say they won them, they could conceivably lose each of them (according to whoever) and still win a championship because they'd have 3 All-Stars.

That last tweet is important IMO.

Brandon has connections, and he probably is in the know.

We will see if that is true....

Irving to Suns-simple

Post#930 » by pipfan » Sun Jul 30, 2017 1:26 pm

this deal makes the most sense to me.
Bledsoe, Bender, Miami 2018 first-MAYBE 2021 Miami 1st for Irving

Clev saves a bunch of $, and still makes the FInals with Bledsoe. Bender gives them their first rebuild piece to build around post LBJ, and they add a pick.

Suns have a great offensive backcourt, and a great defensive front court

That's really bad for Cleveland. Bender has shown close to nothing and Bledsoe is good but still an injury away from being Derrick Rose (wait, the Cavs actually like Derrick Rose!).
I can see why this has not happened yet, the Cavs want Josh Jackson or a comparable prospect.

I don't know who Brandon is, but I believe his tweet. James Jones who is now VP of something in the Phoenix office has a great knowledge of Kyrie (and everyone on the Cavs), and knows the importance of a young vet who can score like Kyrie. I also believe that James who is such a close friend of Lebron's adds to the intrigue, as each is probably in the others ear trying to sell a certain package. Probably, bottom line, they will come up with something to get this done. Phoenix has Bledsoe, Dudley, and a young player (Chriss or Jackson...which one is still being argued about) and a pick. I believe Cavs for Bledsoe, Dudley, and Jackson (for Kyrie and Shumpert), wouldn't even need a pick...maybe they would even give one. Something will happen by mid to end of this week. Cleveland wants to get out of the news !!

P.S. I believe Cavs have targeted Jackson and will adjust the deal to make it happen. And if they settle for any young player not named Jackson it won't be Bender...to me Chriss will be a much better player than Bender.

I think adding Josh Jackson would be an overpay by Phoenix, especially since there would be uncertainty about how long Kyrie would stick around.

James Jones was close to everyone on the Cavs...he was a friend to all....he probably already knows if Kyrie would strongly consider resigning there, and if he indicates there is a good chance....they will put Jackson in the deal.

I think Bledsoe + Chriss + protected 1st for Kyrie & Shump is a good deal for everyone.

I would actually take this if I were the Cavs. Bledsoe would probably be the best available PG they could get for Kyrie. Bender is very young and raw but full of potential. Not a bad first rebuild piece ala Kristaps. If TJ Warren could be added in for Frye, would even be better.

Yes, I think they will look to add Dudley or Warren on top of Bledsoe and the prospect.

Ideally -
Bledsoe
Chriss
Warren
Pick

For
Irving
Shumpert

And perhaps Frye, but Frye could be paired with a pick for another player-

Based upon the reporting, Irving's teammates didn't seem to feel like this was a one-game issue.
