Usually happens when someone gets a ton of hype and doesn't live up to it, plus not like he has a likeable personality, does he even have one? It probably doesn't help that some Wolves fans over-rate him either.

People continue to hype him up too, part of the problem. I just don't think a lot of Minnesota fans are realistic about their expectations with him.

Players have inflated raw stats on bad teams and it can be misleading. Look at Tyreke Evans in his rookie season. Look at Michael-Carter Williams in his rookie season. It's not that difficult to have inflated raw stats on a bad team where you're given a green light to do what you want. Jahlil Okafor may fall into that boat in his rookie season as well.

Basically multiple guys who's skills are not translatable to winning basketball. I'm not saying that Wiggins is necessarily 100% analogous as those guys (though maybe more in line with Tyreke Evans impact) but the bottom line is if you are going to have the ball in your hands a lot on a winning team you have to be some combination of a high level passer or scorer. Michael-Carter Williams, not high level. Jahlil Okafor, grind it out post up basketball not very conducive to winning basketball. Tyreke Evans, can still run some point but his scoring volume had to be reduced because he's not a skilled enough scorer. Wiggins is showing more propensity to at least do a high volume role BUT he's a very poor passer and his scoring efficiency is below league average. Those things are not conducive to winning basketball. No, that does not mean he will never improve but given he's maintained mostly the same rates through three seasons I think expecting those skills to go supernova or to substantially improve in the next few years might be giving into false hope a bit.

So if you're not going to have the ball in your hands a lot on a winning team, you need to find other ways to be valuable. Well, Wiggins is a very bad defender (this is the truth, not overstating) and I still think his three point shot is a bit of a question mark, even if for him it was a big improvement last year. He was at league average from 3 last year but with a low volume of 3s taken.

So if it seems people are being negative about Wiggins it's because the reality is there's a lot of reasons to be. I want him to prove me wrong, I want him to go supernova but he's really going to have to prove it.

His efficiency was OK not good not bad. He was needed to carry a large scoring load last year as a 21 year old because we had nobody else capable of doing it besides Towns after LaVine went down. Now we have Butler to take some scoring burden off Wiggins and to take the burden of guarding the other teams top scorer. Also at 22 players tend to be better than at 21. I'm confident his efficiency is going to go up nicely this season as well as his defense.

Interesting trade. I don't mind losing Dieng value with Channing Frye coming in as a better fit. Three firsts for the oft-injured Bledsoe seems like an overpay - NYK probably needs the face-saving OKC 1st if Melo is traded. CLE saves face if they bring in the big name Melo, and it probably makes LeBron happy - even though Melo is not worth as much as casual fans believe. Personally I don't think Kyrie is going to bring back even this much, but I like a lot of the things you have going on in this trade.

Send Tyus to the Suns....maybe Patton or one of the draft picks to the Cavs.

I think it's going to be hard to get a team that is also making an offer for Irving to help you get Irving. I also think that the Bulls are a team that we can use since they have Wade and probably the most cap space in the NBA. They are also in full rebuild mode as well. I don't see the Suns moving Bledsoe without getting back a solid PG in return.

They have Ulis and Knight, but they'll also have tons of assets to trade for another point guard. They'll also be tanking another year, and not having a decent point guard is the easiest way to do that.

We need to orchestrate a 13 team trade where we get KI for the OKC pick and Aldrich

The other option would be to have Booker play a lead guard role, a la Harden/Westbrook.

Hey I like your deal....and would be willing to trade that and more for Kyrie. Knight getting hurt makes it less likely the Suns trade Bledsoe without a PG coming back. I also doubt that they would help us acquire Kyrie for ourselves when they are trying to trade for him too.

For Kyrie, I'd have anyone available besides Wiggins, KAT and Butler along with the OKC pick, 2020 and 2022 picks with light protections. You could change Patton with Tyus in your trade to make it work for the Suns. Also, when is Patton eligible to be traded?

Why stop there? Let's add even more teams and get Kyrie for the rights to hire David Kahn.

Not sure mentioned, if Thibs would have kept Rubio in the mix, meaning not traded him for cap space to secure Teague (I know it has been mentioned it would have been easy if Irving would have made his stance known earlier), Irving would be a Wolf already.

It would have been simple, Rubio to Cavs or third team, yes probably Wiggins needed to Cavs, Aldrich to Cavs or third team, Irving and Shump + pick(s) to Wolves from third team.

Anyway, this might be filed under what is meant to be will be.

If Wiggins is offered Kyrie will be a Timberwolf. That draft pick probably has more value to the Cavs than Rubio would have....I'm a Rubio fan and I'm saying this...

No team is going to give up a piece as valuable as Wiggins in a trade for Kyrie and neither will the Wolves. If a team had offered a piece that valuable, the trade would already be done.

Everyone get wiggins for kyrie out of your systems.

Will not happen.

Wiggins trade value>>>>>>>>kyrie trade value.

We don't have the assets outside of wiggins to pull it off. Kyrie is a head case regardless.

Let's roll with what we've got.

Rubio and Wiggins really?????????? If we want Irving just give the word with Wiggins and it's done. However, we would rather have Wiggins and Teague than Irving.

That is my point. Rubio would have been the matching salary out to Cavs or most likely Third Team. But as I said and you ignore, additional value in return because Wiggins + Rubio in a vacuum is worth more.

And to poster above, Wiggins does not have >>>>>> Trade value vs Irving. Maybe to Wolves fans but not reality.

Well he especially has more value since Kyrie asked for a trade. I'm not sure he has more value if Irving hadn't asked for a trade....but after he did he definitely does....

Are you suggesting the amount of "greater than" symbols implies just how much more trade value wiggins has as compared to kyrie?

Give me a f'n break...who gives a "f" how much more valuable he is...

Good Grief. The number of greater than symbols...seriously...
