House of the rising sun, is that right Kyrie

New Orleans confirmed

Even if it means anything , which I doubt since he has no communication with the Cavs to know what they are doing,
if there is any deal to made with N.O. this would be it, with an unprotected 1st rounder at minimum also going to cleveland no later than 2019. https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6929350

Irving should get a nice return though if they are smart about it.
my first thought was straight up for John Wall.
higher # of players in return might be found sending him to Phoenix for Bledsoe, Bender, Warren.
sending him to the Spurs for Green & Murray ( they won't trade Leo).
sending him to Boston for Isaiah , Brown & Smart.
sending him to the Timber wolves for Wiggins & Dieng.
sending him & Frye to New Orleans for Davis although unlikely would be my favorite move if the Pelicans are content with Boogie.
sending him to Denver for Chandler,Harris,Mudiay & Hernangomez. ( they are not trading Jokic)
sending him to the Bucks for Brogdan,Delly,Henson or Delly, Jabari & Maker.
lesser desirable returns but still solid:
sending him to Charlotte for Kemba & Lamb + a draft pick
sending him to detroit for Jackson Johnson & a draft pick.
sending him to NY,or Miami 2 of his preferred destinations don't offer much in return unless you want Dragic or can pry away KP.
sending him to SA or MIN his other 2 preferred destinations are more likely , but who cares what he wants.
I am not in shocked by this, but disappointed and believe he will likely regret the decision.

who would offer a fraction of this for kyrie? look at butler and george

wait and see , the butler and george arguments are not comparable situations nor are they relevant comparisons at all.
If you cannot see the difference , maybe that is the problem you have to deal with.
You don't know what they will get or won't get, but I can assure you if you think all of these are too much , you clearly are undervaluing the impact he will have on a franchise.
The fact is the Cavs will get a solid return or he will return to Cleveland for at minimum part of the season until someone ponies up the assets.
There are too many teams legitimately interested for the demand to not be raised, hence raising the value of the return.
Unless of course you don't believe that, I do. He is an all star guard with the best handles in the league , somebody is going to pay up.

Thank goodness. I really don't know how Knicks fans endured years of this crap. It was kind of interesting at first, particularly after having a team that was effectively locked into the same roster for years. But then it just degenerated into hundreds of really bad Kyrie trades coupled with tired explanations as to why the Cavs were going to get an awful return.

Only reason I asked again is because someone in another thread said it was a couple more days than that.

Well hopefully he's traded tomorrow

Yeah somebody had a report out there it was the 4th, I guess they forgot how to count to 30 , or his signing wasn't official until the 5th of july pushing the 30 days out 2 days, but I don't know why that would be.By all accounts I have seen he was inked on the 3rd.

Sounds like the fact that Irving conveniently put it out there today that he will not commit to stay beyond 2 years to any team he is traded too , looks to be a hitch if not a deal breaker for The Suns including Jackson as they are wanting some kind of positive from the Irving camp and that is what they got instead.Maybe a 3rd team will need to be involved.
Thanks Kyrie, this guy is really starting to piss me off.( the timing of it anyway).
I understand not being willing to commit that far ahead, pretty understandable by any allstar and I do think the Phoenix reaction to this is deceptive by the Suns in hopes Cav's will just yield and trade him for a lesser return.
Possibility also exists that another org put that out there to try to get Irving instead of the Suns at a lower price for that org.
There are a lot of teams not in the Irving sweepstakes that benefit from the Cav's getting squat for Irving as well.
" if " the Suns don't waiver on Jackson, I think the Suns hopes of getting Irving are unreasonable, regardless of Irving's announcement of not be willing to commit, because he will not commit to any team , not just the Suns. & lets face it Jackson is unproven.

He was never going to commit to any team beyond his current contract. The notion that it impacts his trade value is far fetched.

I do agree he was never gonna commit but the fact its been thrown out there can harm his trade value a little i think. Theres just so much negative media buzz around him not being willing to commit and so forth it could sway teams.

At the end of the day it is just an indication that Phoenix was considering moving Jackson if they could get Irving to sign an extension early, and so are now trying to use that as leverage to not include him on the first day that Jackson could have been traded.
These teams that have interest in KI are far from being to the point in negotiations that will actually get Altman to pull the trigger.
I now think this entire things needs to die down for awhile ,as it appears the Cav's are in no hurry to do anything, weather it's taken by interested orgs as stalling the inevitable forfeit of KI for less than desired or seriously not interested in moving KI for chump change.

So reports say that the Suns would do Bender, Bledsoe and the Miami first. I believe its 'enough' value in return for a disgruntled Kyrie but I don't believe its acceptable with the Cavs trying to win now and getting slightly worsened by the deal for this upcoming season.
What teams were interested in Bender last year before the draft that could be included as a third team here?

I'm not sure how last years fourth overall pick is supposed to be that different in value from this years fourth overall that it halts this whole deal, especially when after obtaining Kyrie Phoenix will need frontcourt more than back court, however lets work with Bender and flip him to a previously interested party. What could we get for Bender?

Would Phoenix make the same deal plus Chandler for Shumpert? I think adding Chandler for Shump helps the defense more now (for minutes a game.. I get chandler is ancient).. Shump's minutes are gone with Korver, JR and Rose added to backcourt.

This gives us Bender and the first to develop or trade for more help later when teams are eliminated and guys become available... example, Marc Gasol for Bender, Chandler, Frye's expiring and a first? Not saying that's realistic, but pointing out our flexibility is back and that would mean a ton.
Kyrie most of the time when he shoots starts with the ball and then dribbles a while then shoots. -statistical analysis from a 'longtime' Cavs fan (June 2017)

^^ Bender too me is way to far away for any team besides one in the beginning of a long rebuild to consider giving up anyone we would have interest in that is a blue chip young player. His quickness on switches is impressive, his passing is solid, but he is not blessed with much length for a 7'er with only a 7'2" ws but he does have a 9'3" standing reach, unfortunately is not at all explosive being so frail (27" max vert),nor does he have the ability to defend in the low post with so far to max out etc. as far as playing a stretch 4 His handles are ok, but not enough to keep defenders honest and his perimeter shooting is not reliable enough to garner any double teams along with his inability to create off the dribble because of the "ok" handles etc.
I feel like it would be next to impossible for us to use him as a trade chip either in a 3 way deal sending us someone we want from another team or after trading for him with phoenix and searching for another trade partner for Bender.
I would think if the Cavs are at all desperate to get Bledsoe where they would accept not getting Jackson or Booker then they would have to get the Suns own pick in 2018 without protection instead of the Miami pick and Marquis Chriss would have to be sent to us instead of Bender. At least Chris is a bouncy athletic player with a ton of potential and may be valuable in a future deal if we didn't keep him.

So just last year Bender was looked at as the possible top overall pick before teams decided he wasn't quite worthy and he fell only to fourth overall. Now at the ripe old age of 19 he has so little value that no other teams covet him? Even at seven foot? Even with offensive skills most seven footers don't posses? He's 19. I'm not implying the Cavs should play him with a LeBron led team. And I don't know much about him other than scouting reports, mostly pre-draft, but come on. He's so young and so rare there has to be teams who'd think him and a middling first for an older star/semi-star is a fair deal..

He is a long ways away, that is all I am saying, so his value is not there yet for all potential trade partners, only for teams looking to rebuild as he will not help any playoff team or even a mediocre team reach the next level any time soon. That's the point in his not being good enough as a trade chip under most circumstances even for rebuilding team with players that might be intriguing to us ;maybe if you think Sac would take him in exchange for Fox? yeah right or maybe Orlando would take him in exchange for another project in Isaac who also doesn't help us.Maybe Boston would take him for Jaylen. I don't think so.

Of course it hurts his trade value! I know you hope it doesn't because you are a Cavs fan but by saying it doesn't hurt his trade value hurts your credibility on any basketball conversations. I am sure I will get banned because I disagree with you but I am trying to have a realistic conversation. Poll any G.M. in basketball and everyone of them would tell you that it really hurts his trade value. Why do you think that the trade offers you are getting are junk? Kyrie is one of the best players in basketball and all he can get so far is that junk offer from the Suns? What will happen next is the fan base will try and talk themselves into the Suns deal as being o.k. I am a Minnesota sports fan and have seen it my whole life. The 7th pick and a scrub linebacker for Randy Moss.... Does that one ring a bell for anyone on here....
