3-5-2 for Manchester United
Could 3-5-2 work for Manchester? Lukaku with Rashford could cause trouble for the opposite teams.

Re: 3-5-2 for Manchester United
Oh yeah it could, small problem, who plays that third CB position. Bailly and Lindelof will start i guess.
De Gea
Bailly-Lindelof-Rojo
Valencia-Pogba-Herrera-Perisic
Mhkitariyan
Rashford-Lukaku
I don't think it would be our best formation but it wouldn't be a bad option.

Mourinho alternated between the 4231 and 433 last season. He will probably go more for the former if Perisic deal goes through, and play him behind Lukaku to drive the intensity.
Lukaku
Rasford/Perisic/Mky
Pogba/Herrera
Mensu/Lindelof/Bailly/Valencia
De Gea

would rather not start playing Rashford out of position, especially to accommodate for Perisic of all people.

as a ball boy you ought to follow the rules and customs of the group you are joining. There is a Manchester utd thread for all news Manu, there is a transfers thread for all things on transfers. If people use them they stay on the first page with all relevant information together if everybody starts pointless individual threads the forum becomes messy. Your neymar to PSG thread is a great example of the wrong way to do things.
Why not follow the way everybody else does it at least until you are established here?

That backline does not look good
Also I am not sure why Mourinho still insists on playing Pogba as a deep-lying midfielder.
Paul Pogba's success has been evident when he's in a more advanced attacking position on the field.
This bs went on for the whole season, at least whenever I caught a MU game, can someone explain the logic?

Mourinho doesn't play with only 3 players at back... He usually plays with 4... His prefered tactic is 4-2-3-1...

I just hope Heno stops playing out of position on the wings and gets into the central of the pitch

Matic should free up Pogba nicely.

Pogba is overrated. When he shines he shines but when not he's average.

Re: 3-5-2 for Manchester United
Just my two cents about the 'don't make a new thread-issues'. I actually feel more attached to coming here now cause the threads are news-based and not about one big thing like Transfers cause yeah, I'm particularly interested in the Neymar-saga so that's interesting to me. While I was for sure not ever gonna click on a transfers-thread to read about Neymar. Maybe in the Barcelona-thread but that one is down also, there's a La Liga thread too but....

This is my thinking too, which is why I'm allowing them. Ideally I'd like most transfer news to still be posted in the transfer thread, but sagas on the scale of the Neymar one deserve their own thread.
To give an example, when this forum was more active, club threads were a good way for fans of one team to discuss their club within a more structured environment. They're not going anywhere, but now that we're a bit lower on numbers overall, I prefer to have more threads dedicated to specific topics as they generate a lot more discussion, and I plan on making some myself soon.
As far as United's strategies are concerned, I don't see Mourinho playing 2 up top unless they plan on signing another center forward. If they started Lukaku and Rashford, that leaves only Martial as a backup and I think he's much better as a winger. I think it's more likely he dabbles with a 3-4-3 similar to Conte's Chelsea than a 3-5-2, as they have a better balance of personnel for it.

Soooooo the forum used to be more active. What happened?
I believe this entire forum and including others should upgrade to xeno forums. Just look at UFC forum for example, its very, very active.
