I'd love a thread of cheesy 80's movies.

So I didn't start watching Game of Thrones on a weekly basis until after season 3 which was kinda nice being able to binge watch the first 3 seasons. When season 7 started, I barely remembered what happened in season 6.

I recently started listening to The Ringer's Binge Watch podcast for Game of Thrones season 7 and I'm amazed at the links between episodes from years ago and how events relate to things happening in the current season. I feel like I've missed out/haven't appreciated all of the little details and connections throughout the years and now I'm tempted to go back and re-watch all 6 seasons and/or read the books - I just can't get enough Game of Thrones right now.

I think I may listen to all of the Binge Watch podcast episodes (they recorded 1 podcast for every episode from season 1 through 6) and pick up the books, instead of re-watching all 60 episodes.

EDIT: The Ringer's podcast is called Binge Mode.

Two things, first he has 1000 ship fleet ( I think I have seen that referenced) which appear to move way faster than any other fleet. In the fight scenes we have seen, there haven't been near that many, so could be the fleet is split. I don't recall if Euron was visible in each scene or not, but the split fleet may be one loophole. Second, I think they eluded to some type of "more than mortal" by his initiation where they drowned him and he comes back from the dead.

I have no idea if either of those are actually intended to offer explanation but just thought I would throw that out there.

His ship (Silence) was at both places. The sails were seen at Casterly Rock.

As for the drowning, that is a ritual that the iron born perform, "What is dead may never die"

Spoiler:
I think there is some implication that Euron has some god-like abilities, no? I haven't heard it said explicitly but he implied as much when he murdered Balon.

Spoiler:
Agreed, especially the last sentence. Euron is the king of the sea. It's also possible that Dany's two fleets didn't leave at the same time. It's not that far fetched to me that he was already near the Greyjoy/Dorne fleet and quickly ambushed them, King's Landing is not far from there and he was probably there less than a day. Then he books it to Casterly Rock. Even if the Unsullied fleet got a head start on him, we're talking about maybe one of the worst fleets vs the absolute best. How do we know when the unsullied left Dragonstone?

Same here man, this is the only show I chose to re-watch over and over. I've watched all the way through twice and have tried to get so many people into the first few episodes.

Thanks for the tip on the podcast. I just got into podcasts to listen to at work and am checking this one out currently.

On that note, has anyone ever listened to The Last Podcast on The Left? They talk about topics that are interesting to me- serial killers, conspiracy stuff, events like 9/11, Columbine, Oklahoma City, Waco. And they are pretty funny to me, one of the dudes is a comedian, one is from WI. Good info, chemistry and funny.

Charlie Sheen and the car, right?

Yes, had no idea he was in it. It was like a terrible cross between Mad Max and Sixteen Candles. Totally recommend if you like that sort of thing.

Ah yes the murdered teen who returns from the grave to exact his revenge via drag racing genre of the mid-80s. Fast Body with C. Thomas Howell and Undead Lightning with Rob Lowe. I feel like I might be missing one... oh yeah Corey Feldman IS Rad Again.

Sure!

Whats weird is you said "16 Candles" and "Mad Max" but for some reason my brain changed that into "Breakfast Club" and "Road Warrior"-- an inexplicable yet strangely orderly mistake on my brains part.
I'd like to see a really good "Breakfast Club meets Road Warrior" movie but I have a hard time imagining it- after all, if you're a Road Warrior, you face an entirely different set of problems than you do when you're a Breakfast Club.

I've seen none of those but with the wife and kids out of town I got some spare time on my hands.

Wait. Those aren't real are they?

I really enjoyed the podcast too. I tried to follow along with them and rewatch one season per week (don't judge... I'm in between jobs ). Fell a little behind but mostly kept pace with them. Was really interesting to see all the call backs from previous seasons. Single lines from even season 1 can have significance. That's what I really love about GoT, the deeper you get into it the more rewarding it is.

How do we know this though, aside from being told? The only evidence in the show we have to go on is some deific ability to sail be at one end of the continent one day, and then catch up to a fleet that left earlier than he did minutes after they reach their target. The writers have not done enough with the Euron character to this point to justify his teleportation-like speed that has been shown in the most recent episode.

Spoiler:
Again, the writers (basically since the first episode) have had no problems essentially teleporting characters across massive distances in what seems like no time. This isn't something new.

Fate of the Furious was a contrast of epic action sequences and dragged out filler.

The action makes it worth the watch despite how excessive it gets. It's like Fury Road if George Miller was incapable of telling a story. And The Rock continues to be great in it.
