And even if they would have, why would you overpay, putting a negative contract on your books?
It's not that terrible & he's younger than our normal FA acquisitions, so glass half full I guess.
Feel like there's less incentive for him to improve his game if he's just experienced a life changing contract signing and is now going to be in the temptation capital of the NBA. Just a lot of things working against this signing - I really hope he has that competitive mentality of a guy who wants to leave behind a legacy & be a part of something. Then I am okay with him getting what he got - despite it hindering our future signings by about 5-6 mil per year.

Any seats left for the bandwagon bus?
Are you fans of the team or the player?

If he keep up his work ethic he'll worth that contract and more. Dude has every tool to become successful.
I think he can step up and he can exceed the level B.Beal playing at Sg.

Timmy thing feels very boom or bust. If he plays good D, keeps taking steps, you have a 3d scorer and the contract is more than fine. If not, he'll be a bench player, a glorified Jordan Crawford.
Beal is not realistic. Beal is more talented and better.

Re: OFFICIAL: Welcome BACK to New York THJr (4/71m)
THJr started to show that he can finish at the rim too. Mostly dunks but he has great atleticism without much injury concerns.
Those 4th quarters against Rockets and Cavs looked good. He finished some tough plays against good defenders.
If he improve his driving threat he'll become even better scorer than now.
Beal seems to rely on screens and foul calls more.
Timmy and KP may fit better than Wall-Beal.
There's a bust potential too but if he steps up he may contribute more wins than Beal.

I said this before when he was here, Timmy reminds me of JR without the WTF moments. He can start and be solid or he can be the best dude in the league off the bench.

Good point. Doubt he ever had this kind of money to his name though. He just went from making 1-2M a year to 18M a year. That is life changing in any regard. But yea, it brings me some optimism to be reminded his dad was a baller and he's always been wealthy.

Timmy's handle has really tightened up over the years. It's allowed him to become more than just a jumpshooter. If that continues to improve he'll be able to take guys off the dribble more and become a great scorer in the league because he clearly has great finishing ability, but he just hasn't been able to get to the rim in the half court to show it off. His passing has also improved as well. He's a really good offensive talent and we know the kid is going to work and not be lazy. I thought from the get go this was a good risk to take.

Timmy was always a solid finisher. Even here. Why this board was blind to it was beyond me.

My question is what does THJ have to average in order to be considered a 70mil player, what is the average salery, and what would be considered a steal?

THJ is a good finisher around the rim. The good thing is that 75% of his shots are at the rim (65% FG%) or from deep (36% 3PT%).

17-19 ppg with good shooting percentages (45+ fg, .37+ 3pt)
