Fun fact: one time I got to go on the court and do this little race with my gf against another couple between the end of the 3rd/start of the 4th. We had these big costumes on that weighed a ton. Anyway I lost to the other dude in the race like a beta male but it was still fun to do. Last thing on the bucket list is to do one of those half court shot contests.
I'm jealous! A buddy and I got selected to do something like that one game. They brought us to the tunnel and put us in the suits. We were to go if either team called a timeout in the final four minutes of the third quarter. Unfortunately they didn't, so we didn't get to go on the court.
Haha damn... it seems like they always call them too. That sucks. Did you show up early to the game? Just wondering, because mine was the only time they'd ever asked me to participate in anything and I've been to a bunch of games since around 2002. But this time was the only time I think I had ever been there when the doors hadn't even opened up yet. So me and my gf waited like ten minutes in line outside the door for them to open, and some lady pulled me aside and asked if we'd be interested. Anything similar?
I got called down once during a game against Miami. Can't remember the year, maybe 2011ish? Me and a buddy had to roll a tire down the court and make a layup faster than the other team. We won! We each got a $400 gift certificate for tires from Tire Kingdom. We had gotten to the game super early and were in our seats in the upper bowl when someone came up and asked if we wanted to do it.
