On the half-full side, Susac's OPS this season: April 321, May 726, June 737, July 869. Maybe getting over the headache problems earlier in the year?

.726 and .737 OPS only look good next to a .321 OPS lol

Basically he was useless for a month, **** for two months, and almost a real person for the last month.

To be fair to Susac, that .321 OPS came in only 30 plate appearances.

But the .710 OPS is over 200 PA

Yeah, I haven't paid much attention to him this year nor am I defending him. Hopefully it was the injury that caused the mediocre/poor first few months.

Well his .721 OPS in the majors includes 262 pa's in one of the better pitcher's parks in baseball. He's considered a pretty respectable hitting prospect for a back-up catcher and I'm glad he's getting a chance.

To get rid of Maldy before he reaches Arby? Idk I wanted Susac all year but hes been really bad in the friendliest hitters park imaginable.

You can trade Maldonado and not take a catcher back.

I get why Stearns traded for Bandy.

He's the same age as Susac and they share similar minor league numbers. It was far from a lock that Susac was going to become a good MLB catcher. Add depth and competition at every position possible, then let guys earn playing time. If Susac had been hitting in AAA, he could have gotten called up when Bandy was in that deep slump.

Maybe they wanted to take a shot on a catcher who might actually be able to hit. I trust Stearns and the scouts, clearly that's who they felt comfortable with.

Would be great if Kodi could turn into a great lefty out of the pen like Hader has been. The funky delivery and huge slider and live fastball will translate well if he can locate

5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, 3 ground ball outs, 8 fly ball outs, 39 strikes, 46 balls.

So keston hiura certainly hasn't disappointed at the plate. It's going to be interesting to see how quickly he moves up the system over the next couple years.

Lutz .329/.400/.645 between Arizona and Helena. Exactly what you want to see from an older high school player in rookie leagues.

Adrian Houser is finally back on the rehab trail. Another interesting name to watch as he recovers.

Thats pretty aggressive. This regime has been pretty aggressive. He surely will take a ton of playing time from Demuth, Noriega, and Betancourt.

I'm not exactly following closely enough to really know what's going on but Gatewood wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire in High A. Seems a bit hasty to me.
