Damn, that facility looks great.

I know the state of the art facilities are a big reason players want to play for the Brewers (or at least, really enjoy their time here). I hope there is a similar effect for the Bucks.

The slogans they've put around it are so corny and dumb.

Major upgrade over St Francis facility. Being near arena is major advantage. It couldn't be better! A triumph for the Bucks!

Arena construction has progressed so much (i.e., roof nearly closed) they have now added an interior camera (aimed toward the northeast).

They actually use Milwaukee tools or is it just a sponsor?

I've had great luck with MKE tools, they're my favourite

Milwaukee Tool bought branding rights to the contruction site.
They are also providing tools for use by contractors on the project...

Love that it seems there will be more natural light coming in. The Bradley Center feels like you're in a bomb shelter half the time

I drove by the new arena this last weekend. it's neat. The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Science Center is neat as well. I wondered if there were underground tunnels to connect the two facilities. That'd be neat.

My family and I went into the once renowned Grand Avenue mall and that was a downer. An old women approached me and told me how everything, including the Grand Avenue mall, is going to hell. I mumbled back a half hearted response about how change is inevitable. I guess Gimbels must of been a hell of a place. It felt like a David Lynch movie. Anyway, it'll be interesting if the new arena and entertainment facility put some life in the area. However, I did enjoy the street preachers' arguments. Go Bucks.

Partnership announced with Marquette today. As a Marquette fan, I'm ecstatic. Can't wait to go to MU games in the WESC, the atmosphere should be unbelievable. Good for the whole city, imo.

Three year deal. I'm sure their rent went way up but attendance will be higher, at least the first year or two of the new building.

Good. The Bucks should try to partner with as many local entities as possible. Really ingrain it in the people of Wisconsin that this team is all of ours and it's a big part of our local community. Marquette and Harley is a good start. I would love to see some sort of partnership with the Packers and closer ties with the Brewers.

MU is already consistently Top 25 in the nation in attendance year in and year out. Playing anywhere but this new arena would have been a grave mistake for the program - MU knew it, Bucks owners knew it (and really tightened the screws).

I was really intrigued by the grand avenue location when it was still a possibility. the mall is really nice if some life was brought back into it and you could've had an interesting bar/restaurant thing going for people stopping in before a game before walking through a connecting entrance to the arena. Especially with multiple downtown buildings being connected, if done right, it would funnel people through the corridors for cozy pregame vibe on a winter night.

The mall thrived for awhile when it first opened but eventually died out. The downtown office workers couldn't sustain it and it was a deadzone nights/weekends. If it could be connected to the new arena it might have a chance. It's had several owners over the years, it was last sold in 2015. The current owners have talked about only having shopping on the first floor and turning the second floor into offices. I don't really know what the current status of the place is, I haven't been in it since I last worked downtown a long time ago.

I think that whole area of downtown will be next to see some development, someone needs to come and put the grand ave mall out of its misery.

The Grand Avenue Yelp reviews are sadder than Beaches the movie. https://www.yelp.com/biz/shops-of-grand-avenue-milwaukee

That area is in the early stages of development. The owners of the mall are waiting for leases to expire, the plans are to have street level retail and restaurants with a possible grocery store. the upper floors will be offices. Several older buildings in the area have been converted to residential and hotels in just the last 2 years. The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra wants to convert the Warner Grand Theatre, MSO is very close to its fundraising goal. Pabst brewery is just about to be build out and there are several proposals for new hotel development. Even before the new Area opens up that arena of downtown will be very active.
