5 years, 150 million for Wiggins? Is there anyone who thinks that's a good deal?

I do not, and the first thing I thought of was, I wonder what Jabari thinks of it.

If they have a damn brain in their head they will. So it's probably 50/50 at best.

Kyrie/Booker would be such a horrendous fit together. I guess if you can get 3 A+ defenders on the court with them, might be passable.

Why would Phoenix do that? You might be able to survive with one Kyrie/Booker type. They won't be able to overcome the hump of having them both.

I don't get it for Phoenix. Are they building through the draft or not? They're obviously being opportunistic trying to grab a good player who is available but then what? Are they switching to win now? Can't imagine kyrie will be that patient for the young guys to maybe grow into something.
Seems like a weird team fit for me.

Is Kyrie & Booker worse than Lilliard & CJ?

This is an interesting debate. While Bledsoe has really worked to improve offensively Kyrie is much more natural and skilled offensive player. Defensively Bledsoe should blow him away but realistically Bledsoe was pretty damn bad on defense last season. Now would that change if he was in a more competitive situation and felt the need to try on this end of the floor? Maybe. I think it's hard to totally judge guys individual D when placed on a bad team defense like Phoenix was last year plus I think the beginning of the year Bledsoe was babying that knee a little and not going all out on D combined with him expending a ton of energy on O because him and Booker were the only guys who could create offense for that team.
The Suns are in an interesting spot with Bledsoe because on one hand they really like the dude and he's embraced being a leader (something that doesn't come naturally to him). But the $100M question is would they want to give him a new contract in two years knowing that meniscus injuries have a tendency to give older players problems. If he had a 100% clean bill of health I don't think they would be even considering trading him but the simple truth is he's had 3 meniscus surgeries and at least part of one of his meniscus has been removed.

I could see Lebron / Rich Paul wanting Bledsoe to replace Irving.
And since the Cavs are prioritizing young players and picks it'll be important for them for King James to be thrilled with whatever veteran additions they make.
The biggest downside for Bledsoe is the knee issues will probably limit his career and make him a potential contract albatross.
But Cleveland shouldn't care so much about that with the one part of the trade that is specifically to win now.

It is but I kind of get why they would do it. Sure they could wait for him to go into rfa next year and chances are he gets a max offer sheet for less and they can match. But that could create a similar situation they ran into with kevin love where wiggins feels disrespected and starts angling to leave after year 3 with his option. So from there perspective they overpay now to keep him happy and hope he improves and earns his ridiculous paycheck.

hes not. his defense is so bad it nullifies his offensive advantage.

I get the concern, he's not thaaat good yet and improvement is never guaranteed. But some of the sticker shock is we're just not used to the cap yet. They basically have to do it and hope he takes the next step in his improvement, he's improved every year. Now he has to take the next steps to do the winning things, with the coaching and vets around him now it should really help on those fronts. It is what it is, they just have to do it.
I also find it a bit odd that many here are so concerned about him getting 30 mil while also seemingly thinking it's just dandy to hand Jabari 20 mil with two torn ACLs and basically the same flaws in their games even before the 2nd tear. But that's just me...

That Wiggins contract is pretty bad but it's also pretty necessary. Same with Otto Porter. Neither guy is a star but you either overpay to retain guys of their talent level and hope that they improve enough to justify the max money, or you let them walk for pretty much nothing.

If Bledsoe could ever stay healthy this would be a reasonable debate. Since he can't it kind of nullifies it. Keep in mind Bledsoe is 2 years older too, with a history of knee injuries. I know Irving has a slew of injuries early in his career too but 3 of the last 4 years he's played over 70 games. which Bledsoe has done once in his career.
