Knicks/Rockets/Magic trade proposal
So the Knicks and Rockets are back in trade talks for Melo and are looking for a third team. I think thw Magic need to get in that trade here is my proposal.
Magic:
Trade: Nikola Vucevic and DJ Augustine
Get: Ryan Anderson, Chasson Randle, 2 future 2nd round picks from the Rockets , 1 future 2nd round pick from the Knicks.
Knicks:
Trade: Carmelo Anthony, Chasson Randle, 1 future 2nd round pick
Get: Nikola Vucevic, DJ Augustine, Trevor Ariza, a future 1st from Houston
Rockets:
Trade: Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza, 2 future 2nd round picks.
Get: Carmelo Anthony.
Why Orlando? Orlando Magic Daily recently posted an article that showed that the RPM for the starting unit was pretty much the same with Bismack vs Vuc. At the same time, the team's biggest need is 3pt shooting. Getting Ryno, even with his bloated contract, will give Orlando a high quality 3 point shooter at every position, except PG. By having Ryno it will ensure that every line up Orlando runs will have a minimum of 2 strong 3pt shooters on the floor at all times. This will ensure good floor spacing. Also Ryno will fit well into the up tempo style that Orlando plans on play.
Why Rockets: They get Melo.
Why Knicks: They really don't have much of a choice. Melo kind of has them by the balls. They don't want to bring Melo back to camp and he will only wave his no trade clause to go to Houston. The only thing that the Knicks want is to not take on bad deal when they get saddled with a bunch of bad contracts. This is probably the best deal they would get where that doesn't happen.

Re: Knicks/Rockets/Magic trade proposal
Anderson's longer and more expensive contract instead of Vucevic nice deal and a couple 2nd round picks =

Have you seen Ryno's salary numbers for next 3 seasons? You're basically trading one of better contracts in the league in Vučević just to dump DJ salary for even worse poison. I get that Vuč is the only highlight of this fictional trade for Knicks (and it is far from being enough for Knicks, IMO), but we need to do only trades that benefit our team.

I think i made this same proposal except Orlando would need more than some 2nd rounders.
Taking on Ryan Anderson = a 1st round pick from Houston, not a 2nd
Trading Vucevic should = more than a few 2nd rounders also
Why is Ariza involved. He has no value to NY. And his money isnt needed to make the trade work

His salary was need to make the deal work for Houston. A future first from Houston would be so far down the line that it wouldn't make sense. They already owe a first to the Clippers for CP3 and the Knicks will get a first for Melo. So it wouldn't make sense that Orlando get's a first.

Well then the whloe trade doesnt work lol
(Also Houston has a bunch of random guys making 1-2 mill at the end of their bench. They'd trade 3 of them instead of trading Ariza)

We don't need Ryno here eating into AG and Isaac's minutes. it's not even a good win now move since he consistently fails to show up in the playoffs. And that salary... good god.

Uhmmmm.... ryan anderson's contract is every reason why the magic should get a first round pick. we lose a productive and younger big on a great contract and take on a older player that is now much more 1 dimensional (used to at least be a great rebounder) with 3 years on it who is owed 3 years at and average of 20 million dollars. gotta definitely appease the magic too... otherwise.... They would rather keep augustin.

This just reminds me, so I have to ventilate. What's the point of acquiring late first rounder when we just threw away 25th pick in this past draft for... probably 2 second rounders 5 years from now. That was a serious head-scratching move from our new management.

Which means it wouldn't make sense for Orlando to participate. Even with a future first I think I pass.

Re: Knicks/Rockets/Magic trade proposal
Now that the "NO's" have it, it is interesting to contemplate how the Magic could help a trade for Anthony to Houston.
1) Orlando would need to be a net winner in the trade (or why be part of it???).
2) New York will be a major net loser.
3) Houston must trade either Ryan Anderson or Eric Gordon for any trade to financially work.
4) This might need to be a four-team trade.
The Magic can trade Biyombo and/or Fournier in the deal. The Magic really need to get back at least one 1st round draft pick. The Magic would get stuck absorbing Ryan Anderson or Eric Gordon, and Gordon is more of a fit (assuming Fournier is traded).
If the Magic traded out Fournier and got back Eric Gordon, a very far-off future Houston first (maximising its potential to be higher) and another future draft asset, this could be an interesting trade for the Magic.

Why would we want to trade Fournier for Gordon though? For a Houston first that, let's face it, will likely wind up in the bottom 6 or the draft at best given the team they're assembling.
Why trade Fournier at all for that matter? His contract, which get's plenty of burn here, really isn't that bad, especially if he returns to 2016 form. He's one of the few legitimate shooters, scorers, and starters on the team. I mean, move him by all means as part of a blockbuster package, but if we're not getting someone like Kyrie back in the deal, then why move him?
