It went very well. He scored 24, had a +/- of +21, about 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, maybe 1 foul. He was fouled 8 times and played 27 minutes.

The team looks good compared to Poland, as they won by 12 pts. He scored 31% of his team's points.

Amazing that Latvia has a smaller population than Queens in NYC, but they have such a huge star.

Fans would have stormed the Garden and demanded his head. No way anybody could have accepted that, even if ball turns out to be a great big baller.

Wanted Josh Jackson, IIRC, was trying to get the 4th pick, Ball wasn't gonna be there

Eh...I'd take Vescey with a major grain of salt.

I do think Phil would have pulled the trigger for Josh Jackson though

There's some quotes that came out earlier today from PJax saying that he was looking to trade KP for the #1 pick to draft Lonzo Ball.

Ball is gonna be damn good imo. Not KP good though. If that rumor is true then I'm glad Phil is gone.

Ah, didn't see that

I'm not a Lonzo fan, so thank god we didn't do that

Mind posting the source/link?

I'm very skeptical of Vescey having any sources.

According to Vecsey, however, Jackson was legitimately interested in dealing Porzingis:

People knew, they probably wouldn’t have accepted, but Phil was angling to try and trade Porzingis for the No. 1 pick to Boston and he would have taken [Lonzo] Ball. That’s who he was after. In the end, people might really like that.”

The narratives of the Knicks and the Lakers would have been entirely different if Porzingis was in Los Angeles and Ball was in New York. Of course, it also alters the story arc of the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers as well.

If the Celtics had agreed to the deal, Boston wouldn’t have traded the top selection in the draft to the Sixers and Markelle Fultz would have likely played, instead, for the Lakers as the No. 2 overall pick.
