The Kyrie-Clippers Rumors

"Let's dance" - David Bowie

Let the Kyrie Irving rumors begin.

Let me bring this back...

He Who Shall Not Be Named wrote:Another reason why this trade could be bad is the mere fact the Clipper's defense will take a plummeting decline. Moute followed Chris Paul to Houston, there goes one defensive presence. Jordan is shipped to Cleveland, goodbye defense, hello Seven Seconds Suns. The Clippers would be transformed into a Mike D'Antoni team that will be forced to secure blow out victories of 20 points or more every single night just to stay alive.

In other words, Clippers would become 30th in overall defense and in points allowed.

He Who Shall Not Be Named wrote:Adding insult to injury, none of the Clippers players are proven Sudden Death shot makers. One person on YouTube suggested Danilo Gallinari will most likely be the designated person to take that 4th quarter last second non-tying buzzer beating game winner. Do the Clippers commit to a Sudden-Death-by-committee in the likelihood they are down 1 or 2 points in 4th quarter crunch time? With Irving on board, you at least have one proven clutch shooter. Who else on the Clippers is going to develop a Kobe gene? The Sudden Death Shot is the very reason why I could see the Clippers miss the playoffs this year, with or without Kyrie or DeAndre.

Remember these?

When I was a member of an old forum, I would either start or end my post with a song lyric. Why that quote? Because I know this rumor is going to be talked about to death until it finally happens.

If West could find a way to bring in Kyrie while retaining Blake, Jordan, & Gallo this team could be really fun next season.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

West is a great basketball mind but he isn't a magician.

yeah, it's not like kyrie has any leverage. no team would let a young superstar on a favorable contract go for a package centered around rivers/bev/williams.

Perhaps the solution is to get a third team involved

I dunno. the more I think about it, I don't want a guy like Kyrie on my team.

he is basically saying he wants to be a ball dominant, score first, scoring title challenging player rather than to have another chance at winning it all. even with all the reasons Irving's camp has stated, one more season with LeBron was all it was gonna take, then if he didn't want to be stuck in a bad situation, he could have easily bailed out after one more season. even better, after LeBron leaves, then Kyrie could have demanded a trade with just 1 more year left, basically telling Dan Gilbert that you could have something for me now, or you will have nothing when I go to the free agency after his last year of contract.

what about his flat earth view? he is basically saying he has a delusional view of the world, and doesn't care to learn. I think this part of himself is a major part of what's driven him to this point. what other 15th century view does he want to bring? a real rape victims can't get pregnant? pot of gold at the end of a rainbow?

I don't want a guy like this on my team. it would be very hard to cheer for my team with a guy like this on it, not as a role player we can brush off or think it's cute, but as "the Man" of this franchise, representing his lunacy being the composition of the player who could be the face of the franchise.
ehhhhh f it.

I dont like it either. Kyrie is a fine player but if he wont play with LeBron he wont play with Griffin and the D would be horrible.

Hey, a pass-first PG couldn't get us over the hump. Why not try it with a shoot-first one?

I figured it would be a long shot of lesser players plus first round picks.

I actually think it might be a better fit- Irving can really take over in clutch situations- something cp3 and Griffin have struggled with at times. Griffin is very unselfish and could use a scoring point guard

I don't know if you can dominate in the NBA at 6'3", esp without LeBron drawing the double-teams. Never been a Kyrie fan, and I think this trade stunt

http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/news/charles-barkley-criticizes-kyrie-irvings-trade-request-from-cavaliers-w496835

is unwise. But if the cost is only DJ and Pat Bev and assorted chaff, so what? Paper Danilo was a bigger risk, with a lower ceiling.

And I don't think our offer is that bad. If Kyrie's gonna be a cancer, I think Pat's championship material, and DJ too if he's LeBron's wingman.

Two things concern me about Irving basketball wise- he doesn't play good defense and he is somewhat injury prone. Also, I have no respect for his belief that the earth is flat. It would be sort of embarrassing to have a guy like that on the clippers.

However, he is a great one on one player- one of the best in the league. He has such a wide array of moves. That would certainly help the clippers in late game situations

Nobody's sure whether Kyrie was messing with the media buttplugs or not. But Shaq and Draymond are down with this earth-is-flat stuff, so if it doesn't affect putting the spherical ball in the round hole, I don't give a spit.

I'd be more concerned about Blake dating a Kardashian-Jenner than the goofy Kyrie flat earth statements.
